I got a special deal on this room, 75 reais per night, that is about £10 (November 2021) which was an absolute bargain. The hotel staff speak no english, the room is a good size and clean. I had 402, it had a balcony, however it's situated next to Sao Joao Ave, so it's noisy 24/7 and Republica has many homeless people, so at first it's a bit concerning, but you get used to it and during the day it's fine, so many people around, at night time, just use some common sense. I'd stay there again even at the normal price of 150 reais a night. It's a good location base to see the city. Just learn a little bit of portuguese so you can communicate with staff.

O prédio em si é muito bacana, funcionários educados e prestativos, o problema é a localidade, sendo um bairro altamente perigoso e mesmo assim o prédio não tem estacionamento próprio, sendo que para estacionar tem que pagar um valor de R$30,00 e ainda fica a quase 2 quadras do prédio.

A experiência, so não foi melhor, por 2 motivos.
1-, Estacionamento, é pago ( E não é informado na hora da compra), e o mesmo fica relativamente longe do hotel, se precisar chegar ou sair de madrugada, é ruim.
2- o Chuveiro, não tem Box, é uma cortina de plástico, devido a pressão da água, molha todo o banheiro.
