This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was so beautiful! The food was fabulous, the wine tasting was an added bonus and the grounds were wonderful for exploring! We felt very relaxed and at home here.

The place is enchanting. Wonderful nature, peace, privacy. The property is nicely kept under the vigilant eye of the amazing Mr. Olivi, with great care to details. Comfortable room, though at 3-star level (sheets, towels, bath accessories). Food was OK, but it could (and should) be great to make this place really top-notch. In an Agriturismo, you expect to eat all natural and locally produced (even on site) foods. Breakfast in particular was not up to par with limited options and unremarkable industrial ham, sliced bread, jams and juices. We ate two dinners at the property, both of which were really good, but the fixed menu with undeclared appetizers and desserts can yield unpleasant surprises (it did to us).

Our vacation at this family hotel has been absolutely delightful! It has been a perfect blend of tranquility and beauty. The hotel's cleanliness and excellent maintenance have truly impressed us. The picturesque landscape, along with the inviting pool and garden, perfectly encapsulates the essence of Tuscany, just as we had always dreamed of. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We stayed in room 23 – this one had a separate sitting area, and was lovely – large and spacious. It was very clean and the bed linens were nice. There’s a small fridge and safe in the room. The TV in the sitting area could be a bit bigger, and the wifi needs an upgrade, but otherwise, it was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice and well-equipped, although the lighting could be brighter. Breakfast was very good: eggs, cold cuts, cheese, selection of cereal, toast, jams, pancakes (some days), croissants and other baked goods, juice, and of course coffee. We also had dinner here 4 out of 5 nights – very good, but pricey. It was nice to not have to drive somewhere else for dinner. The staff are amazing here – very professional and helpful. The pool area was lovely – lots of chairs and umbrellas available, and the pool itself was clean. Even though the days were warm, the water was too cold for swimming in October 😊 The whole complex is beautiful and we could see ourselves staying here for a couple of months, wandering through vineyards and olive groves! If you have a chance to go, attend the vineyard tour and wine-tasting (it was done very well – low-key and about 1 hour, which was perfect). La Sovana is also well situated to visit many of the other notable towns in Tuscany and Umbria: Siena, Assisi, Orvieto, Montepulciano, etc. Overall, we loved this place and would go back for sure.

This Agriturismo was outstanding. Rustic stone buildings with beautiful and stunning grounds and surroundings. You are truly in amongst the vineyards and olive groves. The accommodations were excellent and so was the service. We stayed in room 13 which was so convenient to everything. We even had a private outdoor patio. It had a very comfortable king size bed and a very modern bathroom. The breakfast was delish. We did not have dinner at the Agriturismo but every morning, people were raving about the previous evening's dinner. At breakfast, every table has white linens on it. The location is great. We were 20 minutes to Montepulciano, 30 minutes to Pienza and 45 minutes to Orvieto. Pienza was our favorite. La Sovana is maybe 5 minutes from the Autostrata.

We selected this location as it was near Chiusi train station and the start of a 6 day Tuscan Cycling tour. We arrived around 5:30 after an overnight flight from Toronto and train transfer from Rome airport to Chiusi station. The minute we arrived we started to decompress due to the quiet and peaceful surroundings and view over a beautiful valley of vineyards and olive groves. A set menu meal was served at 8:00 and was utterly delicious. Same for the meals on Saturday. Would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay if we return to Tuscany. 👍👍

Was double charged before even staying at the hotel- they do not honour the free cancellation, they charge you more than any so called cancellation fee and also add the VAT tax - pocket it without a stay completed. The charges were more than double, the owner is slimy, he ignores and acts like its a small business. Stay very far away. Principle and integrity always first!
