Hôtel Mercure Bords de Loire Saumur

Good location, minutes from downtown and good rooms with all expected amenities. A special note for the very helpful front desk.

Disappointing stay due to poor mattress quality Great location and friendly staff, but the bed was a dealbreaker. The mattress was so sunken in the middle that it felt like sleeping in a bowl. Impossible to find a comfortable position and I woke up with a backache. For the price of the room, I expected a high-standard sleeping surface, but this felt well past its prime. I hope the management considers replacing the mattresses soon, as a bed you can't sleep in defeats the purpose of a hotel.

Excellent hotel. Great location looking across the river to the town. Only negative was that our non-smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes.

Staff was outstanding, even helping us transport our bicycle panniers from the storage area up to our rooms and then making us a reservation to get dinner right before closing time at a local restaurant on a barge along the Loire. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had during our time in France

Great location with river and chateau views. Worth upgrading room to include. Great breakfast spread, seating outside with river views. Town easily walkable and parking right outside hotel.
