We have just returned from staying overnight in st brides and we were very disappointed. We have been looking to stay at st brides for some time thinking it would be an incredible place to stay but it was a pretty disappointing experience. We had a suite which overlooked the stunning sea views of Saundersfoot, the room itself on first glance was gorgeous but when you looked closer, it was actually pretty awful. A clump of hair was on the bathroom floor, totally don’t understand how this wasn’t noticed by the cleaning team as it was very obvious, the bath had hair and “bits” all over it. The wall around the bath had random holes in it, the balcony itself was scruffy and run down. The restaurant was very disappointing, we had a 3 course dinner included within our stay, all food came out quite cold, the food itself was very average and small portions, the menu selection wasn’t the best, very small variety, the desert selection was tiny and nearly everything had a supplementary cost so even though our dinner was “included”, we had to pay an additional £50 just to have what we wanted and the drinks were very pricey too. The breakfast the next morning was actually quite poor, when we arrived to breakfast at the time slot they allocated to us, the continental buffet option was near to empty, there were no pastries in the basket and nearly all fruit was gone, we were already half way into our cooked breakfast by the time the it was topped up. The biggest con off all is that you can only visit the spa once during your stay so when we wanted to go again the next morning, this was out of the question. The spa itself had building works going on all around you, building materials just left everywhere and just totally unsightly. The spa was quite rough and ready, just lots of unfinished details, cement on blocks on show, silicone all over the tiles, just very untidy and lack of attention to detail. The total cost of our stay amounted to £695………. For one night stay, a 3 course meal, 1 bottle of the cheapest wine that was on the menu and 2 pints. I really don’t think it’s very good value for money at all. I don’t mind paying more if it’s worth it and it was going to be a treat but it wasn’t the case at all. We feel totally robbed. I notice that st brides is now part of the Celtic collection, we haven’t long stayed in the Celtic manor only a month ago and had very similar experience so it didn’t shock me that this poor service and quality of stay was across the board, really disappointing as we were very much looking forward to this stay and have been for some time.
