Scenic Hotels in Ulaanbaatar

"I booked a 2-night stay, but after just one night and one morning here, I feel the need to share my experience. I was really looking forward to the hotel breakfast after days of traveling on the outskirts. However, despite paying for a breakfast buffet, I wasn’t given any choice of what to eat. The only option served included bacon, beef sausage and sunny side ups, which all of the above could be an issue for guests with dietary restrictions. When I asked about alternatives, the staff were unhelpful—even though the restaurant was nearly empty with only two tables occupied. Communication was also frustrating. I understand there may be a language barrier, so we used a translation app to clearly request coffee creamer and butter. Even then, we ended up with four black coffees and no butter. When I asked for tomato sauce, I was given warm tomato pasta sauce instead. Small issues, but they added up to a frustrating experience. If you’re only looking for a place to sleep, this hotel might be fine. But if you expect good service and attention to detail, it may not meet expectations. A hotel stay can make or break a trip, and for a four-star hotel, I expected much better. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider Millennium Hotels in general. To make matters worse, after I raised my complaint, the hotel agreed to refund my breakfast. However, they insisted I bear their platform and marketing fees on Trip.com, so it wasn’t a full refund. Lolol. I would have gladly paid 100% for my breakfast if it was what I had actually paid for. Yet, when the hotel is at fault, they refuse to take 100% responsibility and still expect to avoid any loss. Looking back, I wish I had listened to my friend’s recommendation and booked the Kempinski Khan Hotel instead."

"The hotel seems a bit worn out despite being renovated not long ago. The lifts had see-through walls that show non-plastered wall, which was strange, but I didn't ask about it. Bath towels were frayed at the edges. Saw a loose nail from the furniture on the floor. Never got the morning call that I requested. The driver they booked to send me to the airport did not turn up but the front desk personnel got me another set of wheels to the airport. Otherwise, it looks like he was about the drive me there himself, which I appreciated. What I like about the hotel is its location, walking distance to the square, Gobi cashmere and convenient store etc. In addition, the hotel doesn't seem to be overly crowded, so it is easier with the lifts and breakfast."

"Good and clean hotel. While it's rated as 5-star, I would give it a high international 4-star rating. Staff are helpful and their English is very good. Location overlooks the main square of UB - this is a plus and minus. If there are a lot of activities/celebrations going on while you're in UB and you're facing the square, you'll hear ALL OF IT. If you're looking to go the main business area just north of the Shangri-la Mall, then it's about a casual 15-minute walk."

"About a ten minute walk from the main square. The hotel is comfortable, modern. It adjoins a large shopping centre, there is also a 24 hour mini-mart next door too. Front desk staff all speak good English, however they are a little bit lacking in knowledge about transport options for getting to the airport etc. The floor tiles in my bathroom were broken and consequently the floor felt a bit unstable. Overall though I felt relaxed and comfortable during my stay."

"What I liked: great staff, friendly, the guys speak excellent English, which is nonsense for Mongolia, one of the employees even speaks Russian. Good location. Since there are unreal traffic jams in UB, you need a hotel with parking. Everything is great with that too. There are shops nearby, a good Irish bar. Excellent Wi-Fi, water every day, the room is cozy, large, a good view from the window. The room has everything, including a minibar. What I didn't like: the air conditioning didn't work!!!! Well, that's a huge minus. And also the soundproofing is not as good as they write about it. You can hear your neighbors, there is also constant traffic outside the windows. Disgusting pillows, very uncomfortable to sleep, but the mattresses are excellent. The shower is not very well adjusted."

"I love this hotel, if ever i will go back again to Mongolia i will stay here again. This is one of my most memorable trip, also love the breakfast buffet but kindly add more options. This trip is so unforgettable, it is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in my life."

"The Hotel has seen quite a few years. However, it did age very well and is very good maintained. I enjoyed it more than the Hotel I stayed at before, which was 3 times more expensive."

"- Facilities: Standard business hotel, equivalent to the domestic Vienna International Hotel level. - Service: Decent. No Chinese service available, but basic English service is provided. - Hygiene: The overall hygiene of the hotel is acceptable and considered clean. - Environment: It is 3 to 4 kilometers away from Ulaanbaatar City Center, and the hotel is near a main road. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to reach the CBD, and around 10 minutes by taxi (but traffic jams can extend this to 2 hours). There is some noise at night."

"The hotel staff were very kind and I was very satisfied. During my stay, there was an unexpected accident with the room I had originally planned to stay in, but the front desk staff handled the situation and even upgraded me to a different room. I am very grateful that they responded with a smile to my poor language skills. The view of the city from the room was also great. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity to go to Ulaanbaatar again."

"The room was relatively spacious, but there were cigarette marks on the sofa. The overall atmosphere was classic and old, but the staff who were there 24 hours a day were really great. The air conditioner couldn't be set below 25.5, so it was a little hot, but I endured it with the fan and ceiling fan. I was upset at first when they said it was a problem due to the abnormal temperature, but I understood."
