"A Studio apartment vibes, nicely renovated unit. Location is very good and central. Grab is affordable—around RM7–RM20++ to most places for 6 pax, and usually under RM30++ to the airport. Walking distance to vegetarian food like 8 Morality Vegetarian Restaurant, desserts at Four Beans, and close to 1st Avenue Mall, so getting around is easy. Unit is on level 29 with a nice Penang view. Morning sun comes in, but curtains are provided. Facilities are simple—a small gym and a swimming pool on level 36 with a good view. Security is good, with access card required everywhere, including your own floor. Essentials are well provided: Steamer, hair dryer, fridge, and even a wok if you want to cook. Hot and cold water dispenser is available—this is a super plus point. Shampoo and body soap are provided; please bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Tv, ceiling fan and aircon is available. 4 charging points available at bedside. Table with 3 chairs for cozy lunch or quick bites. Grabfood very convenient, just collect it at the lobby will do. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out at 11am, which is reasonable. Instructions by MC Home are clear and easy to follow, as they are super responsive. A few small downsides: occasional plumbing smell near the lobby (around Bila Bila Mart, not inside the unit) - management should solve this and also no washing machine cum dryer is available, and the unit is close to the lift so you may hear some noise at night (once or twice — which is fine for us). The apartment is very new (completed mid-2025), so there may be some ongoing renovation works during the day. Still highly recommended! Had a good family staycation!"

"Hotel was clean and service was very good. Room was large and comfortable . Swimming pool on eleven floor is a plus on hot days. Good view of the town and the sea from our room. Strategic location in the heart of Georgetown. Close to Komtar, First Avenue Mall and Pragin Mall. Short walk to Cecil Market and Chowrasta Market with many eateries nearby selling Penang local delicacies."

"During my booking, I requested a room away from the lift for a quieter stay and also asked for birthday decoration. However, upon arrival, there was no birthday decoration, and the room was located very close to the lift. The room was on a floor with shared facilities, and the room next door was the laundry room. The towels were dirty, and the shower hanger was damaged. I contacted the staff to raise these issues. They informed me that my requests were not recorded in their system. I requested a room change, but was told that the hotel was fully booked and no room change could be arranged. The staff were unable to resolve the issues during the peak season and advised guests to avoid staying during the eve or public holidays."

"We have a vacation in penang and stay in this hotel, it is very comfortable and relaxing, nice bed and pillows, full amenities provided, the swimming pool is very fun also, there is complimentary parking provided, location is convenient, close to all the hawkers and food courts, as well as sight seeing places, hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, always attend to our needs, breakfast is good also, we highly recommend this hotel."

"Was looking forward to my stay in Penang but was left disappointed. Imagine entering the toilet wanting to take relief but was greeted by strands of hair floating on the toilet bowl unflushed. How awesome was that, especially knowing that I paid RM 200 + per night. There were 2 rooms in total, with 1 facing the corridor. I was shocked when my room was well lit with lights off at 3 am in the morning. Who, in their correct mind, would install shades with no coverage, knowing damn well that the lights over the corridor are on overnight. To make matters worse, the extra bed in the room was a hindrance to the door. That's the maximum I can open without lifting the edge of the mattress. Did I also inform you that the rooms are not soundproof at all? Noises from the corridor, the living room and even from the other room can be heard clearly. It's definitely a big no no for light sleepers. While this may not be an issue pertaining to the homestay, I would also like to inform that the lifts are always packed, even during weekdays. We have no choice but to take the stairs down 14 floors after a 15-minute wait. So definitely plan well ahead if you have decided to stay here."

"The hotel is quite large with convenient parking, and there are many great restaurants nearby. Some attractions are even within walking distance. If I get the chance to visit Penang again, I'll definitely choose to stay here."

"You can tell this hotel is trying hard to brand itself as a luxury or upscale establishment, but it falls short on many details. From the design of the key cards, the meticulousness of room cleaning, and the breakfast quality, to the preparation of bath salts after turn-down service, the direction of the showerhead, and the inconsistency of bathroom amenity brands – all these aspects are far from luxury standards. Most notably, the staff training seems consciously biased towards Caucasian guests, which I won't comment further on. I believe if Raffles were truly managing this hotel, the standards would significantly improve. Beyond that, the hotel boasts an excellent location and offers a great sense of history. As for why so many celebrities visit this hotel, it's mainly because Penang genuinely lacks any other truly impressive hotels."

"A perfect stay! Every staff member, from the front desk to room service, was warm and professional. The room was spacious and clean with an excellent view, and the bedding was especially comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted great. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time."
