Grand Hotel Amrath Kurhaus the Hague Scheveningen

Scheveningen|1.81km from city center
After reading the various negative reviews (after booking my trip!) I was mildly apprehensive about my stay here for a number of nights. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very clean, although the check-in process was a time-consuming.mThe room iI was given was small but quite acceptable for my needs and quite clean. Once up in the room, I tried to call down to reception to clarify a minor issue. They ignored my calls. I rang 3-4 times over a period of 20-30 minutes, on one attemnpt, letting it ring for up to 10 minutes. No answer. I eventually found the information I needed in the small info-sheet after looking carefully. The next day, taking a day off from business, I wanted to stay in my room to write emails and so on, so I put out the 'please make up my room now sign at 8 am and went out for breakfast. There were 4 or 5 people in housekeeping on the floor, who, through the course of the day as I came and went, they, seemed have decided they should be doing every single room EXCEPT mine. I has to go to to reception again around lunch time as I found my key disabled. It took the gentleman on reception 25 minutes (I time this) just to be able to create me a new key, and there was no explanation other than ”the system is playing up”. Also at this time, I specifically asked if they would ensure my room was made up and I was assured he would contact housekeeping to make sure it would be done. I went out to lunch. I returned just before three, and the room remained unattended to. I went to reception, this time to register complain, and was quite brusquely told ”this is jsut because the housekeeping staff are busy”. Obviously so!! BNusy all day long doing every room apart from the only room with the ”please make up my room now ” sign hung on the door!! I asked to speak to the manager and was rebuffed. It was clear from the evasive response to my requrest that the receptionist did not want me to speak to the mana gera. After I said I really did want to speak to the manager I was told she wa s busy but would be along shortly. I expected him to do something to contact the manager such as pick up the phone or go to find her, instenad he simply started to ignore me and began to deal with another customer, which behaviour I found most discourteous. When I remonstrated about this he irritable stated taht ”I'm dealing with your problem by email -- you just can't see what I am writing on my screen”. 15 mins of this silent treatment passed I asked again for the manager and was told she was too busy to talk to me. I returned to my room, and housekeeping finally arrived at 1500. These service failings would be incompatible with a 3* rating hotel, but the ket to this thing is that these annoyances are all people related. it is not any indivudual issue-- these things are routine, and dealt with elegantly in even the cheapest of hotels. I expect more from a so-called 5 start property. I It is a real pity as the latest own

Hotel Bries Den Haag - Scheveningen

We had such a lovely stay, the management team were very helpful and the room was perfect for our family needs. A separate room for the kids with bunk bed meant we could enjoy the evening with separate TV and mini kitchen in the adults area. Plenty of bike rental places very near by which are very cheap. Will definitely stay again.

Great hotel, with quiet lobby. Handy automatic supermarket machine witch gets you food and drinks anytime you like. Staff is semi Dutch speaking but deliver a great clean and tidy hotel. Traveled for business, good location. Sea is just around the corner. Photos look the same as reality, so I won’t include photos in my review.

Nice, small hotel in a quiet location about 10min to the promenade. Fine rooms over 4 floors, unfortunately without balcony but with super beds, nice staff. Parking in the street difficult, in the parking garage expensive. Breakfast is sufficient and good, towels are changed daily.

Room okay, the reception is very kind ... After 50 meters you are at the nice beach with many restaurants and bars. Also nearby the great Pier with Bungee-Jumping, a lot of shops, restaurants and a big ferris wheel with a great view over the beach. At the beach are many playrooms for the children and you can surf, kite or make other watersports...

As every year we wanted to celebrate our wedding day with a dinner outside the door. Unfortunately this year only when you let your hotel room serve the dinner, so as to say, did so. Since we find Scheveningen a pleasant night location and Fletcher presented himself as culinary attraction we chose for the Fletcher hotel in Scheveningen. Prima hotel. Clean, everything new and valuable staff(st)ers. It is a pity that you have to walk quite far for a affordable parking space but it's good to do about the boulevard. When arrival immediately but requested the menu card and it was limited, very limited (including the menu presented on the website). We just came in from our beach walking and until our surprise was served half an hour before the agreed time. What fell that against ..... all sweet and flavourless. the tomato soup does not taste and flavour. The bad bourguignon consists of dry wire meat with half a pot of silver. No root, champignon or any other vegetable. Served with stone cold, flavorless, potato puree, for the offered very pricey, what a spectacular spectacle. ”Culinary enjoyment in Scheveningen” will be able to, but not at the Fletcher hotel !!
