Sky Rock Sedona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

West Sedona|1.09km from Seven Sacred Pools
This stay was for a landmark birthday for my wife and I wanted to give her the 5 star experience she deserved. Unfortunately, I was disappointed and underwhelmed with the accommodations. Here are the problems we experienced: The hotel was under construction for renovations. Had I known this was going on, I wouldn't have stayed there. I reserved a room with a king sized bed but was given a room with 2 queens. When I went to the front desk to complain, I was told that they were sold out and I wasn't going to get what I had reserved. When I pressed the issue, the clerk said that she only worked the front desk and looked annoyed that I wasn't satisfied. Now on to the room, there was no patio and the ”view” was of the parking lot. We discovered that the water had been turned off without any notification even though I had talked to the front desk 5 minutes earlier. I had to call the front desk because there was no shampoo in the shower and requested that some be sent to us. The TV in the room wasn't connected to the internet and wasn't operational. After the water was turned back on, there was no cold water in the bathroom sink, only the bathtub (for the remainder of our stay). There was no apparent soundproofing in the room because I could hear the guest in the next room having a phone conversation with his wife (via speaker) and at night, I could clearing hear him snoring. And in the morning, his 6 am alarm clock waked us up each morning we were in the room. The room was very spartan in the decorations. Not the 5 star resort that the website alluded to. In fairness, aside from the front desk clerk that was there when I checked in, the remaining staff were amazing! A special shout out to Austin who worked the temporary dining room in the morning and to Guadalupe, who worked the front desk when I checked out.

Enjoying our 30th anniversary in Sedona we were looking for a place with wow factor views and this place nails it. You must get a rim view room when staying here. Amazing views! A special thank you to Hannah for providing excellent driving to get us down and back safely from the uptown area. There is great hiking close by and the Mesa Grill down the street is yummy for breakfast too!
Sedona Hilltop Inn

This Inn was such a pleasant surprise! I planned our Sedona trip later than I usually put plans together, so the room type I asked for was not available when I made the reservation. At check-in, the Manager upgraded our room & we were so comfortable there! Recently renovated, comfortable beds, lovely room, detailed comfort, you could tell someone really thought through all the appointments. It even had a TV channel guide and every room door was screened from the parking lot by its own front porch and also had a cushioned love seat to enjoy the beautiful Sedona Red Rock view. The air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave and mini coffee maker worked great. One of the best things about the Inn was being just next door to the gorgeous Tlaquepaque market.

It is a small villa with all kitchen utensils and utensils. The sofa bed is not good, so it can only be used as a floor. Overall, it is worth staying in. Go to the supermarket to buy some vegetables and make them easily. It is very convenient and worth recommending.

I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasurable stay. The place is amazing a destination lodge that happens to be surrounded by the beauty of Sedona. The gardens are well maintained and there is a great view everywhere you look. The staff really is outstanding and such a pleasure to speak with from the desk to the master gardener the bartender, Jess and the shuttle service they have is so wonderful to take you down the hill at your convenience. I felt so spoiled and had the best most relaxing time ever. Dream come true for me. Room #284 not even a garden room but the beauty right off our patio was so tranquil. In my humble opinion this is the only place you should consider staying…. Anywhere else is just a room.
Star Motel

I booked on Expedia based on the good reviews and when I got there, went into the office and found out that there was no one working at the motel. I had to wait to get a code to check in via email. Waited, waited, went shopping, and finally made a few phone calls and finally got the code. Went back to the motel and checked out the room. It was marginally clean, killed a few bugs but was going to stay anyway. We went out to dinner (location was the only plus about this motel). When we got back from dinner, we could not lock our door. I tried again and again, and could not get it to lock. In addition to the electronic lock not working, there was no lock inside the door as every motel/hotel I've ever stayed in has as a security measure so that a hotel/motel employee would not barge in on you at any moment. As I am a single mom, with 2 daughters, I felt extremely unsafe. This motel is on ground level, and anyone could have come in at any moment. we called the number for the ”virtual front desk” and I was speaking with a woman who said she was in California so she wasn't even sure if she could get someone from maintenance to check out the lock for us. I told her I felt unsafe and asked if we could get a refund and leave. She was actually very pleasant and said that would be okay. She even offered to help me find an other place to stay, and I said I would book something else on Expedia. We took our belongings and left. We had not touched the beds or anything. We did wash our hands in the bathroom, so probably used a hand towel or two. The next morning I received an email saying that they were charging me for the stay because they were able to lock the door. I was not imagining that I could not lock the door!! It was a huge inconvenience to have to leave and get a new room.

The Amara will always remain a special place, It was very welcoming, and the atmosphere was breathtaking, the small things like greetings, and knowing our names when we walk in went a long way; I felt so welcomed!! The views of the red rocks and being on the creek made the location phenomenal. The rooms all have a balcony, some overlook the creek and the pool area. I love that the room is large, and very very clean! Located in the center of Sedona, you are close to all the shopping! The trip was for my Birthday, but it ended up in an engagement surprise too! The Amara made everything unique and special! There was a Birthday surprise in the room with cookies, and apple cider, The property created a special and romantic vibe that made the whole proposal so much more memorable! I felt so special and over thrilled with joy. Overall, the staff was very friendly, & exceptionally welcoming. We enjoyed my birthday breakfast at Salt Rock, our server Marco was so kind and checked on us frequently, and made sure everything was brought out in a timely fashion and how we ordered it.
