My recent stay at Donnaekohill Resort from August 19-20 was extremely disappointing, and I feel it is important to share my experience, especially given the cost.
My booking was for a premium spa room for a one-night stay, for which I paid 89,000 won, specifically to use the spa bathtub. I arrived for check-in at the exact time of 3 pm, as the staff at the front desk was unwilling to accommodate even a five-minute early check-in. This was the first sign of poor guest service.
Upon entering Room D306 in Building D, I was excited to see the whirlpool bathtub, but my excitement quickly turned to frustration when I discovered it was malfunctioning. I immediately contacted the front desk for assistance. The staff's response was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive; I was told they "couldn't do anything" about the issue. This was unacceptable given that I paid a premium price for this specific amenity.
I was left with no option but to contact Trip.com, the third-party platform I booked through. Fortunately, they were much more understanding and provided compensation of 6,408 trip coins.
My experience left me feeling as though the hotel owners do not care about the comfort or satisfaction of their guests, especially those who book through third-party sites. The lack of proactive problem-solving and general disregard for a serious room malfunction made for a truly disappointing stay and a complete waste of money.
I would strongly advise future guests to be aware of the poor guest service and, in particular, to avoid Room D306.
