Lotte Hotel Seoul Executive Tower

Myeong-dong Seoul|1.32km from Daegaksa
Stayed at the Lotte Executive Tower just after the holidays, in a Premier Double Room. Pros: - The entrance of the Executive Tower is absolutely beautiful. Same with the Main Tower. Elegant, refined, beautiful art work. The executive tower check-in desks are on the 15th floor. - Easy access by escalator directly into the Lotte Department Store (from where the escalator takes you to, hang a right to get to the famous food hall!) - Location can’t be beat. Directly across from Eujiro Station (1) and around the corner from Myeong-Dong Walking Street / Night Market and several 7-11s (which are almost as good as the 7-11s in Japan). - Our room was beautiful, spacious, thoughtfully designed and decorated. Very modern touches and upscale finishes. A chandelier in the bathroom?? - Immaculate housekeeping. - Excellent temperature and very strong water pressure in the shower! - Appreciate the 2 complimentary bottles of Evian every day. - Fast wifi speeds. Cons: - Love the Diptyque toiletries but wish they weren’t the communal / shared bottles. There were bits of dried lotion crusted on the pump from the previous occupant. - Weird that neither lobby had a single chair to sit on. What’s up with that? Comes off a bit inhospitable. This isn’t the type of place to attract non-guests / loiterers. A bench wouldn’t kill anyone! - For a 5* hotel and the price we’re paying, it’s disappointing that there is a surcharge should you need a toothbrush, toothpaste or use of the sauna (!!). They claim the charge for toothbrush and paste is to prevent wastage but surely you could just have these small items available upon request at the front desk? - The doormen’s manners range from formal and friendly (some) to indifferent (most) to downright hostile (many), especially if you are not a Korean speaker, as many don’t speak English. I’m not arrogant enough to think they should speak English in a non-English speaking country, but a smile is universal, you know? Would likely stay here again at the right price and given the location.

Hostel Tommy

Insadong / Bukchon
I stayed at Hostel Tommy for 3 weeks. At first, my plan was to spend each week at a different place whether it was a hostel, hotel or AirB&B. However, after my first week at Hostel Tommy, there was no need for me to go anywhere else. I give Hostel Tommy 5 starts for the following reason: 1) proximity to everything. Any subway or bus that you need to go anywhere is within a 5-10 minute walking distance. I never took a taxi anywhere; and believe me, I went all over Seoul. 2) Convenience: there's a 24-hour 7-Eleven literally right next door, so anything that I needed (snacks) was just next door. 3) Lodging: the room are spacious, super clean, the beds are comfortable. The common areas were also clean and inviting. 4)Reception: Tommy and his staff are the BEST. They will help you with anything you need. I had a great time in Seoul because I never had to worry about anything regarding my stay. From now on, I will ALWAYS stay at Hostel Tommy every time I visit Seoul.
ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong

Insadong / Bukchon
Insadong is a lively district, and the hotel is located in the heart of it. The building itself is a bit old and worn out, but everything is well maintained and the bathroom is clean and retrofuturistic. Breakfast buffet is good for Korean standards: you have a salad buffet, couple types of rice, meat items. Not much there for vegetarians and no cheese, but for Korea this is a very agreeable breakfast. In short - it’s a safe option in terms of cost efficiency, but if you book in advance you might find better options around.
Goodstay Saewha Hostel

It is a regular inn that you always use during your stay in Seoul. Location is within walking distance from Kushiro 3rd Street Station, and access is convenient to go anywhere in Seoul. The building itself is old, but the cleaning is tight, and there is a staff who is fluent in Japanese and can be very careful. The building is old, but the facilities are updated to new ones, and there is no inconvenience at all. So I'm down to the fact that I offered it at a reasonable price without raising the price for 10 years. This time, it seems to be raising the price of about 5000 in April, but the price performance is still cheap and the good cost performance is not changed. We will continue to use it as a regular inn.
Bibimbap Hanok Guesthouse Gyeongbokgung

Many guests of Bibimbap Hanok Guesthouse are foreign tourists, but I went to the vicinity of Gyeongbokgung Palace for their business trips. I checked in with foreign guests. When I saw the host speak English locally, I felt that foreign guests could stay in the hotel without any trouble. I also want to thank the landlord for heating in advance when checking in. I am very happy that I am in a warm room. Especially, since I lie in bed these days, I rarely sleep on the floor, but I also like to lie on the warm floor of the Bibimbap Hanok Hotel. This is an ideal place to get in and out, so I would recommend it to my foreign friends.
T Hotel Jongno

Check-out time is 14 o'clock even if it is written as 17 o'clock. Just warm water comes out at a free price for one night and is satisfied.
