Klaven Hotel Myeongdong City Hall (rebranded on 2026)

I stumbled upon this hotel by chance and had a really great experience. The room was spacious and clean, and even though it's near Myeongdong, it's not right on the main street so it was very quiet. The most unexpected surprise was finding an underground passage just a few hundred meters away that leads directly to the Myeongdong shopping area and Lotte Duty Free. This was a lifesaver for shopping on rainy days, avoiding getting wet. Everything else was excellent, except for the nearest subway exit not having an escalator, which was a bit inconvenient with luggage. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time! 👍

The hotel's front desk staff were polite and could communicate in English. The lobby was comfortable and minimalist, and there was a restaurant, though I didn't try it. Each floor had a filtered water dispenser, so you can refill your own bottle, which is great for the environment. The room had a stylish design, was comfortable, and the bathroom was very spacious. This hotel is perfect for travelers like me who are taking the KTX. It's a 5-minute walk to City Hall Station, then just one stop to Seoul Station to transfer to the KTX for other regions like Busan. Bustling Myeongdong is only a 10-minute walk away. The room rates are significantly cheaper than hotels around Seoul Station and Myeongdong Station, making it an excellent choice!

The hotel's location is super convenient! It's easy to get to Myeongdong, Lotte, and Gyeongbokgung Palace is actually not a far walk. We also tried the Xiang (Hunan) cuisine at Nonggaenggi nearby. For our return trip, we took the subway to Incheon Airport, though we had a bit of trouble getting all the tickets we needed.

The transportation is very convenient, and the facilities are quite complete. The hygiene is acceptable, and the room design is very unique. The staff are also very enthusiastic and quickly resolve any issues we encounter. Due to a flight delay, we didn't arrive until 4 AM, but the hotel was understanding and even allowed us a late check-out the next day. They were really thoughtful.
