I recently stayed at Ibis Styles Myeongdong in Seoul, and overall it was a pleasant experience that balanced comfort, convenience, and affordability.
The hotel’s location is definitely one of its strongest points. It’s within walking distance of Myeongdong shopping street, which made it very easy to explore local food, street markets, and shops without needing much transportation. There are also subway stations nearby, making it convenient to reach other parts of the city.
The room itself was compact, which is quite typical for hotels in Seoul, but it was clean, modern, and well-organized. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and the amenities provided were sufficient for a short stay. I especially appreciated the large windows, which offered a nice city view.
One highlight of the hotel is the rooftop area. It provides a great panoramic view of Seoul, especially at night, and it’s a nice place to relax after a long day of walking around the city.
The staff were polite and helpful, although communication in English could sometimes be a bit limited. Still, they did their best to assist with requests and directions.
As for the downsides, the room size might feel a bit tight if you have large luggage, and the breakfast selection, while decent, could be more varied.
Overall, I would recommend Ibis Styles Myeongdong for travelers looking for a clean, well-located, and reasonably priced hotel in Seoul. It’s especially suitable for solo travelers or couples who plan to spend most of their time exploring the city.
