I visited to enjoy a quiet staycation alone.
In the midst of the hectic pace of Seoul,
I chose the Banyan Tree because I loved the feeling of being in nature,
leisurely immersed in nature.
Looking out the bathroom window at the traffic jams,
I found it healing to enjoy some alone time.
I relaxed and enjoyed the view of Namsan Tower from the relaxation pool, relieving the tension I'd built up.
The room was old-fashioned but clean, and the sofas and beds were clean.
(There are many places where the sofas are so uncomfortable that they're uncomfortable to sit on.)
The overwhelming feeling of the relaxation pool, which could accommodate several people,
made me feel like I was in a really nice hotel.
The bathroom was also excellent and clean.
The bed was very spacious and comfortable, and the bedding felt so enveloping that I slept soundly.
There was a wait for breakfast, which was a little after 9:00 AM,
but it was quieter than the buffet breakfast, and I didn't feel disturbed by others, which was better.
I don't like heavy breakfasts. I ordered natto abalone, and I was very satisfied with the sea urchin steamed egg and fruit.
Since my goal was to relax, I didn't get to enjoy Banyan Tree's famous pool.
I was a little disappointed, but I checked out and will be back next time.
If you're looking for a quiet escape in Seoul, Banyan Tree is the place to be.
