Hause Itaewon

The place was easily accessible via train, just a short walk from Samgakji station (exit 1 or 13). It's also close to the airport bus stop that takes you directly to Incheon Airport - very convenient. It also has a nearby convenience store, and is surrounded by a lot of restaurants and cafes so you won't have to worry about where to get lunch or breakfast. Most of the guests I've met there are quite friendly and will give you tips on what to do if it's your first time in the city. They also have a kitchen in the 3rd floor so you can cook your own meals if you feel like it. We sadly didn't get a chance to see the rooftop and the upper floors because we were so tired by the time we returned. The main floor of the guesthouse is on the 2nd floor, including the reception desk, and you have to climb a steep set of stairs to get there which proved quite challenging when most of their guests are carrying huge luggages - no handrails btw, so you have to be careful. I was carrying a collective weight of 20kgs when I first arrived and had to get help from Johnny as it was impossible for me to do it myself. With its popularity among travelers comes the obvious problem of it being fully packed with people, which can get chaotic when everybody wants to use the showers at once. The place is a little small and there wasn't a lot of room to move around in once all the guests arrive and are buzzing about.
Hotel WO Yongsan Station

It's a motel. But it's very clean and has a giant TV. Basic amenities are available. You barely interact with a human being. You pick up your key from a vending machine that can check your reservation and later return the key to a box. If you need anything, you can call the front desk (usually there is one person taking care of the entire thing). The location is fantastic. It's a short five-minute walk to the nearest subway station and a two-minute walk to the express bus stop going to the Incheon airport. There are four convenience stores within walking distance.

I had a phone charger in the room, so I couldn't use it. So I was sorry that I couldn't charge it, and there was a stain on one towel because it was not well washed. It was good
Korstay Guesthouse Seoul Station

Seoul Station
Great location, 2 min walk from exit 1 of Sookmyung women’s university tube station. Room was basic and a little run down (could use a lick of paint and maybe a new mattress as bed was super squeaky!). But overall, nice and clean, private bathroom which for the price was a plus. Plenty of space for us and luggage in the double room. Breakfast was again nice but basic - it was toast, butter, jam, cereals, milk and juice, but it was again a nice touch for the price. Manager was super friendly and let us leave our luggage first thing in the morning on the day we arrived, and also all day on the day we checked out. Would recommend for travellers on a budget!

Booked online 3 weeks ago and requested airport pickup. Never heard back from them emailed 3 times to get a confirmation about it got no response. Landed at 7am noone there to pick me up. Took taxi to location and found out it's not a hotel exactly. It's more of a hostel. I'm well past the age that those are an option. No one there to check me in that spoke english. Finally they call someone on the phone that does speak English. That person tells me my room is not ready and they put me in a room next to check in counter. The bed is hard and the room smells really bad. I think its an employee break room. I sit about an hour before I decide to get a different hotel. I then go out to inform the counter I'm leaving and will not be checking in. They call the English speaker again on phone and I tell him. No refund per the policy of no cancelation. They also have some stupid rules there. Like leave key at front desk when going anywhere. Also leave valuables at front desk when going anywhere. The place is pretty old right next tobthe army base wall. The parking is 4 spaces on the street. The google reviews of this place are very correct and I should have read those before booking. The reviews on ag..a and b....ng are really wrong. I have no idea if the pictures are accurate as I never saw a room other then the little one next to the check in desk. Contacted the site I used and they said they will try to get my money back but I suspect that will not happen. I've been in many places over the last 3 years of travel and this was the worst by far I've been in. The staff that was there was nice I guess but spoke no English but she did go walking around trying to find me a taxi away from there while I sat there trying to flag one down.

Hannam-dong/Itaewon
The Hamilton is in a great location - right by a subway station with only one train change to get to and from the airport. Heaps of great cafes, restaurants, bars, brewpubs and clubs nearby - even if you don’t go clubbing if it is a great vibe. One word of warning - if you are noise sensitive, bring some earplugs to get a good night’s sleep. We booked knowing this from reading other reviews - and we slept just fine :) Room was spacious, very clean and secure.
