I emailed and requested a late check-in over a month before my arrival received no response and therefore had to sit around the airport in the day of my arrival (which was the whole thing I was trying to avoid) I paid for the day before my arrival nothing I was arriving at 4am. I tried several times to ring the hotel on the day with no one picking up the phone. I sat at the airport from 5:30am to 9am. Got to the hotel after 9:15 and then a worker arrived just before 9:30 am so I could at least check in.
At night, there were renovations occurring that involved drilling and banging, so from getting back to the hotel at 7 pm from a day of sightseeing, I had no piece and quiet. At approximately 8 pm, I asked reception what time the drilling would stop. He told me he would ask them to stop. This drilling and renovation work, however, went on for a further 2 and a half hours. I say two and a half hours as I eventually stop checking the time so i could asleep after 10:30pm as I needed to leave for the airport after 3am. Funny enough, there was someone at reception when I left at approximately 4 am, so I don't see why my request for a late check in the previous day was not responded to.
