This hotel was our base to explore the monasteries of Batalha & Tomar, as well as University of Coimbra. The staff was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were spacious and the interiors of the hotel had a calming yet stylish feel to it. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful week in this hotel, a beautiful, tranquil and sympathetically converted convent. The furnishings are comfortable, and the decor deliberately light and simple, to enhance the restful atmosphere. Breakfast is superb, fresh and beautifully presented, and is taken in an airy central room which has much of the convent's original stonework (and even its bell) to admire. As has been said in many reviews, the staff are, without exception, outstandingly helpful and kind. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Serta itself is a small town, with a Roman bridge just across a small green in front of the hotel. There are 3 restaurants serving excellent food (including local and regional specialities), and several cafés and pizzerias. There is much to explore in the area, which in September was very quiet compared with other parts of Portugal. The routes for days out provided by the hotel were really good, and we enjoyed them all. We would wholeheartedly recommend a holiday here!

Delightful spot to stay on the way from Tomar to Monsanto. This Convento is in the process of renovation- it is a nice juxtaposition of the old Convento and modern art and clean lines. We enjoyed speaking with the owner who showed us the chapel that is being used for local events and art shows. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and beautifully displayed. We enjoyed walking around Serta including walking up to the castle ruins- this may be the only historic spot we visited in Portugal that we had to ourselves. The staff were very hospitable and friendly and the room comfortable. Would recommend it if you are visiting Tomar or the Schist Villages or like us, were on the way to Monsanto.

We spend roughly 30 days a year in 4 star hotels 1, 2 or 3 nights at a time in both Portugal and Spain. This has to be the best. Check in was quick and the gentleman on duty offered us valuable tourist information without having to ask. The room was well maintained comfortable and clean. We were taken to the room, rare these days. The restaurant in the evening was reasonably priced with a wonderful food and service. Better book it was busy. Breakfast was superior to any other hotel we have stayed in, the variety of fruit was exceptional, the pastries, local cheeses and meats plentiful. Eggs to order! Real coffee, not one of those horrible machines, dishes cleared as we used them not left to pile up. Very friendly staff. We can't wait to return and we will!

The hotel was centrally situated to start with. Close to amenities and cultural sites. Very clean and spacious rooms . The ambient temperature in the room was also perfect as it was relatively cold outdoors. Most of all, the staff were engaging and attentive . Followed by very good breakfast. I couldn’t fault them. Highly recommended!

A magnificent hotel very well located with very beautiful decoration. Super welcoming staff and very good advice. Great breakfast buffet. Very nice swimming pool and very clean hotel. Near a park. Some staff members speak French.
