We booked 3 nights and two of the only 11 tented chalets for us 4 through Expert Africa and did enjoy every single minute of our stay at Hoodia. The owners Henreza & Thomas with their dedicated team and attention to details have created the ultimate desert lodge experience. Special mention to the food. Under the professional & expert direction of our guide Paulus, we enjoyed the sundowner and learnt a lot about the desert ecosystem during the excursion to the dunes and petrified trees. Instead of staying inside the park or closer to the park, It is definitely worth the money and the about 30’ to 45’ max additional driving distance to the park entrance. You get so much more privacy, quality service, luxury and attention. We can highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hoodia Desert Lodge, which was booked for us by our safari company, Safari Frank. The lodge was comfortable and well decorated. The room was comfortable and private. I’d definitely stay again. We enjoyed every meal, the dining room was cozy. My friend is gluten intolerant and they made gluten-free bread for her, which she said was the best she’s ever had. All the staff was outstanding, but a special shout-out to our amazing guide, Paulus. He’s very knowledgeable and just a lot of fun to be with. The sundowner was very special. We took part in the excursion to Sossusvlei, which you don’t want to miss.

We couldn't have loved the Hoodia Desert Lodge any more than we did. The welcome by Tom, the proprietor and his staff was so warm and wonderful. The decor of the lodge is top notch. The chef is world-class. Our guide Enos was incredibly knowledgeable. The setting is beautiful.

Excellent food, drinks and accommodations in a relaxing setting. The proprietor, Thomas, and the staff were very welcoming. The cabins are quiet and private, and the deck at the main lodge is a great place to relax. We enjoyed a rare May nighttime thunderstorm as a bonus!

Wow. We booked this through Expert Africa and loved it! The staff were all super friendly and lovely. The food was absolutely top notch. Delicious and inventive. The rooms were beautiful and unique and spaced for privacy. We did the Sossuvlei Excursion with them and that was truly an experience. Beautiful scenery and lunch in the shade. Paul's took us to some sand dunes and showed us tracks and animals that we never would have seen otherwise. A crazy 4 wheel drive to Dead Vlei.. Glad we had an expert driver behind the wheel. The hike along the dunes in the heat was doable but challenging. One couple in our group really struggled. But when we finished, Paulus gave us ice cold drinks and wash cloths, which was appreciated. The pool at Hoodia is crystal clear and was a welcome treat after the hike! Could recommend it enough.. Stay here for a couple of nights!

Absolutely superb. The excellent service started on our arrival with cold flannels presented to us along with a very welcoming cold tea. Staff to mention by name are Paulus and Andreas but I would mention the name of the female waitresses if I knew their names, as they were excellent as well providing us with tuition on making serviette designs. Our trip to the Dunes with Paulus was nothing short of amazing and the private dune picnic lunch was very special making the whole day a unique experience and a brilliant way to start our self drive Safari around Namibia. His knolwedge was fantastic including showing us how to track insects n the sand and how to extract iron from the sand. Welcoming cold flannels were again waiting for us on our return from the trip. The individual guest houses were superbly equipped and maintainted to a high standard. Not a criticism, but a choice of main meals at dinner would improve the stay overall although when we informed the staff that one of us did not eat beef, they quicky adapted the evening meal to accomodate us. We didn't want to leave.

A beautiful location and brilliant staff. We greatly enjoyed the guided trip to the sand dunes and fantastic (unexpected) lunch in the desert. The guide was very good on the plants, animals and geography of the area. The lodges are well equipped and great place to stay and explore from.

An absolutely amazing experience. Our host and the staff were there for us all the way. The menus were delicious. Memorable was the sunset drinks with wine, spirits, snacks overlooking the rift valley. The luncheon under the camel thorn tree saw a carpet rolled out, table laid with tablecloth, napkins, glassware, wine and a delicious lunch. We were fascinated when an Oryx wandered up, eyed us, marked his territory and moved on. The dunes are challenging to climb but options were available.

This beautifully presented and maintained lodge is exceptional superlative value for money . The service was impeccable , the staff can’t do enough for you , the food was fabulous ( and I am vegetarian - a tough call in the desert ). Lovely atmosphere and music, log fires, swimming pool . Our room was so comfortable and the attention to detail faultless. Outdoor bath and shower attached to our stand alone unit. Tasteful decor everywhere .We had an extremely special sundowner excursion and a Sossusvlei excursion which we highly recommend. Lunch at a white cloth set table with a wash basin , chilled wine , all the details - unforgettable . The owners are attentive and pedantic about detail and quality and it shows everywhere. We will be back for certain ! Highly highly Recommended
