Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and funny! The rooftop was such a great place to hang out and had an amazing view. The activities and people made this stay great. I stayed in an all-female dorm which was located on the first floor basically in the lobby. It was ok. You can hear all the activity which wasn't great, but again you are in a hostel. This also had a three-level bunk which was pretty difficult to get in and out of. Our door didn't lock either, you were able to push it right open which was not so good considering we were right in the lobby. I would say you are paying for a fun time with great people, not so much a comfortable stay.

The staff was very kind at La Banda. They were very accommodating and created a sweet ambiance in the hostel. I do wish that they had given guests a proper warning about Semana Santa while we were there. As my friend and I are foreigners, we had no idea how insane the streets would be, and the hostel was right in the center of things. It was literally impossible to get back to our hostel that night, and we were stuck in the streets until 1:30am. We understand that this is out of the hostel's control, but maybe next time, staff could be informed of local events so that they can properly help guests. This is something that I really value in a hostel. The room was also quite hot and stuffy. We woke up covered in sweat every morning, and keeping the window open wasn't ideal for others in the room because of the volume outside in the morning. This was not the most comfortable stay.

Despite all the amazing reviews of this place, my experience so far has been anything but amazing. My stay was supposed to be Sept 24-26. Upon entering my room, it was unbelievably warm so I politely asked if they could turn the AC on, as they hide the remotes. Keep in mind it gets up to 95F during the day. Francesca who works at the front desk said she would turn down the temp, but upon coming back later in the day and finding it just as warm was told she just turned the fan to high… I asked again (at this point for the third time, embarassing) to have the AC turned down to a reasonable room temperature 22C/72F, so the staff cited that Spain has a “law” which prevents them from lowering the temperature under 25C. I looked up this rule and was shocked to find the government of Spain specifically clarified this this doesn’t apply to rooms. I told the front end staff this, the rule only to hotel lobbies or restaurants/bars etc. No response or changes made. I also mentioned that it is so warm I’m actually having difficulty breathing. I’d expect this sort of hassle from a place that charges $15/night, but it’s pretty crazy I’m spending $50/night here which is how much some low end hotel rooms are in town. I unfortunately had to pay out of pocket for a hotel room my last night because how hot it was in there. The staff actually told me “I’m not even from Spain, I’m just volunteering here so just talk to the manager on Monday” - the day I would be checking out at 6am. Totally soured what was supposed to be the best part of my trip.

Walked in at midnight and was greeted by reception. Who was friendly and welcoming, receiving a free drink voucher. Stayed in a 4 bunk room, spacious and clean. The hallway also had extra toilets and showers. Rooftop is nice, drinks are cheap and good way to meet other travelers. Kitchen is small but has everything you need and super clean.

Easily one of the the best hostels in Spain. It is my third time staying and I cannot rave about it enough. Epic cocktails on the rooftop overlooking Sevilla. The best team of people running it and always an eclectic mix of guests from around the world up for anything. Tip: no matter how fast or slow you are travelling on your trip I suggest you give Sevilla at least 4 days to properly explore and experience all it has to offer .. including the underground/ off radar stuff :)

Great vibe from the second you walk in. Reception is comfortable and welcoming with a nice large lounge area with good working space, too. The staff and volunteers were all helpful, and clearly just want residents to have a good time. Welcome drink was a nice touch, and I also appreciated the secure luggage storage after check-out. I experienced some good social activities on site, and friends who stayed longer told of other fun activities outside as well. The rooftop terrace is wonderful, and I appreciated the good coffee in the well-equipped kitchen. Room was comfortable, bed too, with lovely individual light fir the bed behind the curtain. If really wanted to be picky, some ventilation would have been great at night since it was really stuffy by the morning, and with the cold and flu season in shared accommodation this isn't ideal, and having a window open wasn't an option due to cold. The spacious private bathroom for a 4-bed dorm was quite a luxury where hostels stand. Overall, would definitely recommend, even though it becomes pretty pricey on popular dates, due to being such a good hostel!

I stayed around 25 nights in the hostel and I would highly recommend it. The location is amazing, they have events nearly every evening. The staff is incredible helpful especially Andrea. The rooftop is great too with Happy Hours for drinks. The kitchen is fully equipped and aircon worked perfectly especially it was 38C outside. The internet speed is not too bad (around 10mbps).

I've stayed at La Banda for 5 nights and I wish I could have stayed longer! The hostel itself is very cute and well kept but the best of it is its staff who is super friendly, happy, and always happy to help and accommodate any request you might have! They organise something basically every night for the guests (paella night, live music, sangria and more) and are full of recommendations on things to do / see in the city. The hostel was recommended to me by a friend who stayed and once I was there I understood why. I remained in contact with the staff and people I met and I would definitively stay here again should I go back to Seville.
