In late June, I visited Shanghai with my parents, also taking the opportunity to see relatives and old friends.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to Shanghai Railway Station, making it very easy to find. Just take Exit 6 from Metro Lines 1, 3, or 4, turn left, and you'll spot it immediately. The '5-minute walk' felt longer because you have to navigate through an underground shopping area after exiting the turnstiles, and frustratingly, there's no escalator at the subway exit. Shanghai Metro can be a bit perplexing at times!
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and even the security guards were warm and welcoming. Breakfast is a buffet; while the selection wasn't extensive, there was certainly enough to fill us up, saving us the hassle of finding a place to eat in the morning.
The room was clean and well-maintained. Although a bit compact, it was perfectly sufficient for three adults. A full-length mirror was a nice touch, and the lighting was bright enough, perfect for doing makeup.
