Jing'e Hotel | Tencent E-sports Collaboration (Shanghai Jing'an Daning)

This stay was truly excellent; even after checking out, I felt compelled to write a thorough review to express my appreciation and gratitude. First, the accommodation itself. The room was clean and tidy overall. The first impression upon entering was very comfortable, with no clutter or cramped feeling caused by equipment placement. The bed, floor, bathroom, and computer area were all meticulously arranged. The entire space perfectly blended the atmosphere expected of an esports room with the comfort required for a standard hotel stay. Another aspect I really appreciated was the flexible check-out time. This is quite beneficial for people staying in esports hotels, as many times you play late into the night and genuinely can't get up the next morning to pack and check out. Just knowing you can sleep in for an extra hour and take your time is incredibly satisfying, and this truly earned extra points. The front desk concierge service also deserves special mention. They were always reachable during my stay, and messages with questions were answered quickly. Since esports rooms have a lot of equipment like computers, networks, and peripherals, I often needed to send WeChat messages for confirmation. Especially with the recent typhoon, the front desk even specifically reminded us to be careful when going out. Staying here felt very reassuring; every concern was addressed, and the staff were all very gentle and kind. Of course, the most important part was the computer area. Firstly, the desk space was ample, especially the depth of the desk, which accommodated various hand positions – something all esports enthusiasts will understand. Besides playing games, there was plenty of room for temporary items like phones, chargers, drinks, and other belongings without feeling cramped. The gaming chair was also very comfortable, with an ergonomic design and lumbar support, allowing you to recline at any angle, making long hours in front of the computer quite comfortable. The computer performance fully met my needs as well; games ran smoothly, and the overall configuration was mid-to-high end. I particularly want to mention the monitor. When booking, I specifically chose a room type equipped with a Zowie high-refresh-rate TN panel. There aren't many rooms of this type, so those who need it should pay attention when reserving. Personally, I prioritize high refresh rates and minimal ghosting and don't particularly like the 27-inch 2K IPS screens common in internet cafes or gaming hotels, so I pay special attention to this when selecting an esports hotel room. On the other hand, my wife tends to get motion sickness when playing games; although she's in the process of desensitization, practical experience shows that large screens easily make her uncomfortable. A 24-inch or so 1K screen is actually the easiest size for her to adapt to. In short, I was a bit reluctant to leave after checking out. I had a wonderful stay this time, and I also thank the front desk concierge for their care during this period. I'll definitely come back here in the future; I noticed on the map that the EDG club on Lingshi Road isn't far, so I can visit for photos next time.

The front desk service was okay, but I have to complain about the basic equipment in this esports hotel, especially since it's co-branded with Tencent. The mouse, headphones, and keyboard are all unheard-of, generic brands. If you want to upgrade the equipment, it's an extra 70 per day to change all three, which means 140 per day for two people. At that point, why wouldn't I just go to an internet cafe? I came to an esports hotel to game, not to work. What's the point of just having high frame rates? Even internet cafes have better equipment; at least theirs is usable. Do they even realize they're an esports hotel? The headphones were loose and even had some grime on them. And for a two-person room, there was only one headphone cover.

The hotel stay was very comfortable, the computer games ran smoothly, the environment was very clean, and the service was very welcoming.

The decor is new, the bed is just right (not too soft, not too hard), and the computer runs very smoothly. It's great for family leisure.
