Waiting Hotel (9th People's Hospital Madang Road Subway Station Branch)

The room was very clean and odor-free, with excellent soundproofing. The air conditioning was powerful. The front desk service was also great; they allowed me to check in early. The location is very convenient, with two subway stations nearby. The price is an excellent value. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai.

The hygiene is great and the facilities are good. The only downside is the significant street noise, which is understandable given the location. The main issue was the cigarette smell in the room. I asked Doubao Assistant about it and tried opening the window and door for ventilation, and putting hot water with hand soap in the sink, but it didn't help much. I checked the walls, furniture, cups, and pillowcases, and none of them had a smoke smell. I suspect the smell might be coming from the air conditioning vent. I hope the hotel considers this feedback for improvement, so future guests can have a better stay. The bathroom overall was quite comfortable.

This is an additional review, building on my initial review (written on my second night here): The location is great, close to a subway station with two lines. It's also near the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which you can easily reach by bike. The short walk from the hotel to the Madang Road subway station (Exit 3) passes by a KFC, a 7-Eleven, and an affordable breakfast place with plenty of dine-in or takeaway options. I initially booked two nights in a single room and two nights in a double room. The staff kindly upgraded me for free to a single room with a window (Room 201). Its layout was quite unique (pictured in Photo 3): you had to walk through a long entryway before reaching the bed (my first thought upon seeing such a long entryway was, 'Finally, a place to hang clothes!'). While the overall space felt a bit narrow, it was well-equipped. The smart home system allowed for voice control of all the lights. All in all, for the price I paid (260+ RMB), it was excellent value for money. The double room had a standard layout with a very comfortable bed. Both the single and double rooms had complete basic amenities. I particularly liked the exquisite tea set provided. Plus, the hotel has a smart robot that can deliver your takeaways right to your door, and you'll get a call from the hotel phone when it arrives. The drinks in the room's display cabinet are also complimentary: 4 bottles of water and 2 cans of soda. There was a small incident: when changing rooms, I accidentally left my iPad, which I'd been using to watch the Cologne Major tournament the night before, under the blankets in my old room. When I returned to the front desk that evening, a staff member named Yang Yang proactively asked if I had left an iPad in Room 201. She carefully confirmed I was the owner before returning it to me. She was also very welcoming to graduates when I checked in. Overall, this hotel is economical and convenient, perfect for budget-conscious travelers and 'special forces' style trips. Highly recommended for graduation trips! Here's the additional review: My four-day trip to Shanghai is now coming to an end. This solo journey has really highlighted the importance of hotel facilities and services. On my third night, I needed to wash and dry my clothes, and two front desk staff members were incredibly helpful and meticulous in assisting me with the hotel's free washing machine and dryer. This was a huge help in my ten-day graduation trip itinerary. Also, the luggage storage service at the front desk allowed me to explore freely on my fourth day when I was changing rooms, without any worries about my belongings. Finally, the possibility of a room upgrade (which depends on luck and room availability on the day) is a pleasant surprise during your trip (both of my booked windowless single rooms were upgraded to larger single rooms with windows). I sincerely hope my experiences can help other travelers who are undecided about their hotel choices, and I hope my future travels lead me to similar hotels. Front desk staff, Xiao Liu, was very attentive and helped with a late check-out. The service was excellent. It's been open for many days, and it's very close to the subway. The service was really good. There was a bit of a language barrier, which made communication not as easy, but the service was exceptionally thoughtful.

I booked a hourly room during the Gaokao (college entrance exam) period. The environment was quiet and peaceful, right next to Liyuan Garden. Transportation was convenient with multiple bus routes nearby and close to Madang Road Station on Line 9. The room had a desk, which was handy for studying, and a single sofa perfect for a quick nap.

The hotel environment is really great, I've stayed here many times. There's a small park right across the street, so the air is fresh. It's also very close to the subway station, making it super convenient to get around. Plus, there's a mall nearby with plenty of dining options. Overall, it's a very comfortable stay and the room is always clean.

Facilities: New and well-equipped. Hygiene: Spotless. Environment: Pretty good, very close to my business destination. Service: Warm and welcoming. I'm a returning guest and I really like this hotel. It's conveniently located and definitely worth recommending, plus the price is right.
