Having a kitchen, washing machine, and dryer at the hotel made my trip so much easier. The staff are friendly and approachable. Pushing open the dark wooden-framed glass door, the vintage wooden floors are laid in a classic herringbone pattern. Exquisite retro chandeliers hang in the hallway, casting a tranquil, warm glow. The vintage wrought-iron staircase, carpeted in brown, exudes the elegance of the old Shanghai 'Kele' (dandies). The interior is adorned with guitars, wall clocks, and greenery, cleverly blending nostalgic Old Shanghai charm with a modern artistic vibe, instantly transporting you back to the alleyways of yesteryear. The hotel is centrally located, close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, the Bund, and other attractions. Transportation is incredibly convenient, and the rooms are clean, tidy, and have ample hot water. The owner is elegant, incredibly warm, and attentive. During check-in, he not only meticulously took care of every detail but also walked me through the premises, recounting the century-long history of this Shikumen old house with immense passion, as if cherishing every treasure. This truly made me feel his deep affection and dedication to this 'Haipai' sanctuary, leaving me feeling incredibly warm and welcomed.

The room was exquisite and very clean. It's very close to Nanjing Road and the Bund, within walking distance. There are also many delicious local specialty restaurants nearby.

It features a typical Shikumen architectural style, though the entrance can be a bit tricky to find. However, it's very close to the subway station. There are plenty of snack shops and restaurants in the vicinity, making breakfast and dinner very convenient.

The hotel itself is a charmingly renovated old Shikumen house, with clean and tidy interiors. The mattress is just right – not too soft, not too firm – perfect for a restful sleep after a day of exploring. The staff are warm and welcoming, patiently recommending local delicacies, which was a really thoughtful touch.
