Hygiene: The air conditioner clearly hasn't been cleaned in ages; it's full of dust. You can see a layer of dust on the AC vents, so I can only imagine how dirty it is inside.
Environment: It's located on the 2nd floor of a commercial building right next to Yan'an West Road. You have to climb a flight of stairs, which is not ideal if you have luggage. It used to be a Hanting Hotel. Downstairs, there's a restaurant, a seafood shop, a yoga studio, and a swimming pool. From the afternoon until late at night, there was constant noise – chairs scraping, people jumping around. The soundproofing is pretty bad. I could clearly hear the TV next door and conversations between a man and a woman until 11 PM. There are two outdoor AC units outside my window; one for my room, and another whose owner I don't know. They were rumbling all night. I didn't get any rest at all; I could only barely fall asleep with earplugs in.
Facilities: They provide two complimentary bottles of water and two disposable towels, which weren't nearly enough to dry off with. I'd suggest bringing your own towels.
This platform (XC) sells it for more than other places. I'd rather stay in a B&B for just over 100 RMB; it was so noisy that I couldn't get any rest over the weekend.
