The Peninsula Shanghai

The location is super convenient, right next to the subway exit. It's only a 3-minute ride to Nanjing Road. There are plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby, and convenience stores are everywhere. No need to overthink it; I'll definitely be back next time. Excellent!

The Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

Had a wonderful trip! The front desk staff were very warm and attentive. The lion dance performance on the morning of ***** New Year's Day was fantastic and really added to the festive atmosphere. Later, they handed out 'fu bao' (lucky packets) in the lobby, which was a lovely, celebratory touch. The breakfast was exquisite and delicious 😋, and there was a local performance during dinner.

This is currently one of the most worthwhile hotels to stay at/experience in Shanghai, far superior to those in skyscrapers (like the J, etc.). The room is decorated with incredible style, and the completeness of the facilities makes it hard to believe the hotel was built in 2009. Everything you can and can't imagine is there; the room is definitely worth exploring. The breakfast is also great, semi-buffet style but with excellent quality 👍. The only minor drawback is that some facilities are a bit old, and buttons aren't always responsive. But I think the pros far outweigh the cons. Highly recommend checking it out!

The room exudes luxury everywhere, and I especially loved the dressing area with the canopy, where I could sit down to do my makeup – it exceeded my expectations. The room service staff were incredibly responsive to all my requests, and the pool service was also top-notch.

This is an established luxury hotel, and after all these years, it's still beautiful with an understated elegance. The stay was very comfortable, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The location is even better, right on the Bund, which is a prime, highly sought-after area. It's fantastic.

The Peninsula exudes a strong old-money vibe. The doormen, front desk, and lobby bar staff all provide excellent service, something other places could learn from. Also, the afternoon tea is delicious, especially the scones – they're a must-order!

The room isn't huge, but the closet and bathroom are quite spacious. The bedding is comfortable, and the service attitude is excellent! The room temperature is a bit high, so you can wear short sleeves. The lion dance performance on the first day of the ***** New Year added a festive touch.
