The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

One of the most excellent hotels in China, pricey but you get exactly what you pay for. The staff is great and helpful. They communicate very well in English. After they found out it was my partner's birthday, the chef made her a small gluten-free cake to cater for her. Also the view is fantastic

Yep had a lot of fun here - my daughter loved it and the staff were sooooo friendly and made her birthday feel extra special! We will definitely be back again

I don’t even want to leave. Food is amazing! I ate at scena di Angelo and ordered room service twice. Service is amazing. Irena is very nice and helpful as with the rest of the staff. Rooms are perfect and comfortable.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Pudong Ritz Carlton. The club lounge had a scrumptious breakfast and afternoon tea. We had dinner with friends at the Flair Bar. The food and drinks were delicious. The view was stunning! The room was comfortable and spacious. We didn’t use the tub, but wow!! The hotel is connected to the ifc Mall and subway. So it is super convenient! We would definitely stay here again.

The classic beautiful hotel in the fabulous location. If you want to see the great night view, you should choose this option. Deposit was returned quickly.

 When it’s time for me to take a well-deserved break from the stressors of my life, I head to the Ritz Carlton Shanghai IFC. I experienced the 49th floor Club level. I will definitely return. My room had my preferred view of the Oriental Pearl (TV) Tower.  I’m originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so watching the barges on the river brings me peace. And when it’s time for the nightly light show at 7 PM sharp, my inner child is giddy every time. It’s the little touches that means so much, the beautiful fruit and flowers next to the macaroons upon arrival to my art deco chic hideaway makes an old Girl feel special. In-room dining is so amazing with their delicious offerings of comfort food like perfect mashed potatoes or spaghetti. Each Gentleman and Lady provided polite service with warmth! Thank you! Breakfast was wonderful at the Club! Fabulous Manager in the making, Beyond, greeted me with a welcome smile and relaxed demeanor that made me feel very valued! He chatted and checked on me as I leisurely made my way through both Chinese and Western breakfast items: I had the most tasty bowl of dumplings (perfect broth), an incredible serving of Chinese spinach (or was it something else) it was deliciously tender and tangy topped with Asian pickles-that is how I eat greens in the US: homesickness alleviated. Get your Western style breakfast happiness: eggs - made to order, fresh, squeezed orange juice, toast, sausages, and exceptional baby potatoes. I will return to the Club level so that I can try them more offerings and thank the Ladies that graciously kept the black coffee, fresh, squeezed orange juice and club soda coming. Because my room was on the same floor as the breakfast club my walk back to my fluffy bed and a glorious nap was not a long one. As a successful insomniac I can happily say that while I am at the Ritz Carlton IFC, I am unsuccessful. I always get the best sleep while I am visiting. I will be returning to The Ritz for more warm elegance soon!

Shanghai has been a city that I always travel to at least twice a year for as long as I remember, with that I have stayed at most of luxury hotels in this city. I can confidently say the Pudong Ritz-Carlton is one of the top. The service was amazing and definitely the star of the show. I came early and was awkwardly waiting in the lobby for my room, while waiting Vicky approached me to ask if I needed anything and then proceed to work with Ashin to get my room, a little after my room was just ready. So special thanks to the lobby people of Vicky and Ashin for the great service and help. The room was great - clean, large, elegant, with a lot of button controls. The facilities are pretty good, the gym has all the equipment you need and the pool is great - however the pool may be a little crowded later in the night. Mentioning service again, in my room I had a visit form a person bringing fruit as a welcome and also a gelato cart randomly showed up which I thought was amazing and hilarious, free ice cream anyone? Also I saw around noon to early afternoon check out rush hour the hotel brought a clown in for the kids, the guy made Ballons and stuff to entertain the lobby kids which could get a little rowdy sometimes, so that was great - the ice cream cart ended up in the lobby too. Little attention to details like that show that the hotel really care about its guests. Another perk is the great views, from the hotel you can essentially see the whole puxi district of shanghai from south to north bund, the views are all around even in the gym. Also breakfast views were great. I will definitely come back when I get the chance, and thank you to Vicky and Ashin for all the care, even during rush hour where things may get a little hectic.
