Reviews of Park Hotel Shanghai

The location is excellent, right on West Nanjing Road, making it very convenient for getting around. I booked three nights. First, I stayed in a king-size room on the thirteenth floor. Although the facilities were a bit old, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the toilet was smart. I particularly want to commend Mr. Liu from housekeeping. When I needed to switch rooms, he ran up and down the stairs, enthusiastically and thoughtfully, always kind and friendly. Ms. Xiao Huang from housekeeping was also meticulous in her work and always accommodated requests. These two ladies truly add to the charm of this century-old establishment. However, the downside was the incredibly poor attitude of a young woman working at the front desk on April 2nd. She was cold and heartless, and every request was met with a blunt 'no'. Later, she called over someone who seemed to be her supervisor, whose attitude was even worse. I had booked breakfast, but no matter how I tried to coordinate, it was impossible. They kept insisting I go back to where I made the booking. I then contacted Trip.com, but their customer service calls were fruitless. Eventually, the Trip.com agent escalated it to their supervisor, but even the Trip.com supervisor couldn't persuade the front desk. In the end, the Trip.com supervisor said they would cover the cost. I went for breakfast the next day and was extremely disappointed. For 128 yuan, the variety was minimal, with only a few types of bread and some small dishes. Both the taste and service were unsatisfactory. Thankfully, I didn't purchase breakfast for the remaining two days. If László Hudec (the architect of the hotel) were to stay here, he'd probably have to show some deference to the arrogant attitudes of the front desk, including even the intern bellboys! I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally, always giving five-star ratings, and I've never written such a long review. This time, my patience was truly pushed to its limit.
