The Kunlun Hua Ting Hotel & Towers,Shanghai

As a local from Shanghai, I chose the newly renovated old-school five-star Huating Hotel to treat my partner from out of town, aiming for an experience brimming with heritage and quality! This hotel held me as a child, and now it holds me again, metaphorically speaking, of course! The photos on Ctrip are unedited and exactly what you get – no filters or exaggerated images. What you see online is precisely how the rooms look in person! The interior design could be described as 'old money' retro, blending historical charm with modern light luxury. The dominant warm brown 'Mellard' palette, accented by the iconic Ancla red soft furnishings, dark walnut solid wood cabinets, and soft-sheen textured wall coverings, perfectly combines Shanghai-style Art Deco vintage lines with modern minimalism. The independent, walk-in cloakroom at the entrance is incredibly spacious, featuring layered hanging areas, a luggage rack, and storage drawers. Robes, slippers, and a hairdryer are all provided. On the other side of the cloakroom entrance, there's also a highly sealed guest bathroom – an excellent layout! The bedroom boasts abundant natural light with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offering a unique view of the elevated highway at night. The sofa seating area and the bed area are clearly separated, and complimentary capsule coffee is available. The cups and saucers in the coffee and tea bar are exquisitely crafted. The wet and dry separation in the shower area is transparent and sophisticated. The bathroom experience is divine! I must specifically praise the shower! The overhead rain shower delivers powerful water pressure, a magnificent and full flow that can instantly soak even thick, long hair. The double basin vanity offers ample space, and the bathtub's curtain provides soft, diffused light. They even provide wonderfully scented bath salts. From the moment I stepped out of the car, my luggage was carried all the way to my room. The front desk staff who checked me in were gentle and patient, making the process efficient and quick. They meticulously answered all my questions without any perfunctory responses, making me feel completely at home. The level of attentiveness was just right, embodying all the thoughtful details expected of a high-end hotel. I also want to commend the lobby's fragrance – instead of the typical heavy, woody scent often used to convey luxury, it's a light, elegant floral aroma, evoking a sense of warmth like coming home. Four years of closure for renovation were absolutely worth it! With impeccable service and solid amenities, this stay was flawless. I'll definitely be back!

The front desk staff were polite and attentive, always greeting guests with a warm smile, which made for a very pleasant check-in experience. The room was clean and tidy with a nice view and all the necessary amenities. There's really nothing to complain about, except for the gym not being open 24 hours, which is the only minor downside. Otherwise, everything else was pretty standard and good.

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation, making shopping and dining very easy. The hotel lobby is elegant and beautiful, and the front desk service was great and very warm. They even upgraded our room type! The room was large, clean, and tidy, and we could see the Shanghai Stadium right across the street – perfect for walking to a soccer match. We will definitely visit again.

The room was spotless and well-maintained. The location is excellent, with a direct exit from Metro Line 1 right downstairs, making transportation incredibly convenient. It's definitely worth staying here for business or leisure travel!

Haven't written a review in a long time, but this place genuinely impressed me. Great value for money, excellent location, lovely environment, and superb service. A friend who lives nearby recommended this hotel, and it just opened this year, so the decor and overall environment are truly fantastic! 😀 Even though it's next to an elevated highway, you can't hear any traffic noise at all, and my child slept very soundly. It's close to Hongqiao Airport, and the hotel is right next to Shanghai Indoor Stadium subway station. The stadium is just across the traffic light, and across the road to the right is a park with a children's playground, and it's right next to IKEA! Dining and shopping are incredibly convenient. The value for money is absolutely amazing. For this price, to get such a great environment and service truly astonished me. I arrived at the hotel in the early hours with a young child, and they even upgraded my room.

The room was incredibly spacious, and I even got a free upgrade! The fish tank was huge, which I really loved. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a great view of the Shanghai Stadium. The staff was incredibly accommodating, always ready to help. The soundproofing was excellent. My kids really enjoyed the panoramic elevator. Plus, the hotel is right next to a subway station, making it super convenient to get around.

The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and there was even an exercise bike! Checking out on Saturday, we caught the buffet event on the first floor, which was a great deal. Room service was also excellent; the steak was tender, fresh, and a generous portion.

I revisited this classic five-star hotel after its renovation and it brought back so many memories! It's still as grand, luxurious, and elegant as ever, and I felt right at home. This time, I got a package deal that was incredibly good value for money. The 45-square-meter room was bright, comfortable, and spacious – absolutely worth it! The hotel's location is excellent, with Metro Line 1 right at its doorstep, making it super convenient to get anywhere. We extended our stay with the package three times in a row! I was also very impressed with the hotel's service. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, answering all our questions, and there were always people to help with our luggage when we arrived and left. Thumbs up for this hotel! 👍
