Shanghai Baoan Hotel

The overall decor is quite old, and the carpets have stains, although it's clear they've tried their best to clean them. The age of the hotel is visibly apparent. The hairdryer's power is very weak, so much so that it can't even dry short hair. When I called the front desk, they said there were no other hairdryers available, so I wouldn't recommend washing your hair at the hotel. Other facilities are comparable to the hairdryer's condition. I suggest the hotel consider a small-scale upgrade of some basic infrastructure.

Great location, right in the city center near Century Avenue subway station, within walking distance. The hotel environment is also very good, and the front desk staff was excellent, very helpful and enthusiastic when we checked out and stored our luggage. It was a very pleasant stay.

Everything was great, and the stay was very comfortable. The check-in experience exceeded my expectations – the environment was quiet and clean, and the mattress was soft and made for a great sleep. The staff were friendly, the amenities were convenient, and it offered excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Absolutely horrendous! This hotel is like it hasn't been renovated in a century. The wallpaper is peeling off, and the pillows are disgustingly yellow. And the service? It's beyond terrible. They have robots for delivering food, but the first time I ordered, they said I had to come down myself because the robots were busy. The second time, they just flat-out refused, claiming the robots were broken. Fine, I'll go get my own takeout. But then things got really interesting. The front desk staff apparently tied my butterfly pastries with someone else's, claiming they were all mine. I thought maybe they just packed my six bags into two boxes, which was inconvenient but whatever. Little did I know, they were setting me up! The hotel front desk then called me, accusing me of stealing takeout. That's just wild! They even refused to check the surveillance footage and denied any responsibility. From start to finish, no one knew who tied my food with someone else's, and they just kept saying I stole someone else's order. Amazing! I had already sent my items to a friend via快递. They didn't say anything when I shipped it, but once I, like an *****, sent it off, they started making a fuss. Fine, I'll recall the package. Guess what? I even have to pay for the shipping! Fantastic! Honestly, I can't imagine any sane person staying in this dump again. What did I expect for 300 yuan near Century Avenue?

I rarely leave hotel reviews, but having traveled to Shanghai for business numerous times, Bao'an Hotel stands out as the absolute worst in terms of service. From check-in at the front desk to housekeeping and restaurant service, nothing met a normal standard – it's completely below what you'd expect from a decent hotel. When checking out, I simply told the front desk that the service was very poor. The person didn't ask any follow-up questions, just gave me a glare. At that moment, I realized Bao'an Hotel must be accustomed to a constant stream of negative reviews every day. The photo shows Bao'an Hotel's meager breakfast; I strongly advise everyone, for the sake of your health, to skip their breakfast.

The room was very clean, and the breakfast was good, plentiful, and delicious. There's also a Lawson convenience store inside the hotel. The location is excellent, as you can take Metro Line 2 to both Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport. The hotel is also in a central area overall, which is a big plus.

The environment is great, and every staff member is incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to the front desk attendant who helped us with our luggage – he was fantastic. The security is excellent, and the room's soundproofing is really good. The robot here is adorable; it even told us to give it a good review and its 'mom' would give it candy!

The front desk staff were very friendly and even gave us a small gift. The breakfast at the restaurant was excellent with a wide variety of Chinese and Western options, all very delicious. The bedding in the room was also very comfortable, clean, and tidy. The surrounding area is quiet, and its proximity to the subway station makes getting around very convenient. Overall, a great hotel!

The hotel is pretty good. While the decor feels a bit dated, it offers excellent value for money. The location is fantastic, making it very convenient to get to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and The Bund. Plus, multiple metro lines serve the nearby subway station, which is super handy.
