The aging walls and yellowed pillows are due to our inadequate daily room maintenance. We have already arranged for the engineering department to inspect each room for peeling walls, increase the frequency of linen changes, regularly replace old pillow cores, and comprehensively upgrade the room's hardware facilities. Regarding the food delivery, not only was the elevator malfunctioning, causing the delivery robot to operate abnormally, but your food was also too large for the robot's storage space. Therefore, we had to ask you to pick it up at the front desk. The two butterfly pastries looked exactly alike, but the front desk only received one receipt. To prevent confusion and loss, the staff packed them together, and you assumed it was one package, inadvertently taking both. Due to privacy and security requirements for all guests, the hotel cannot freely provide surveillance footage; this is not an attempt to evade responsibility. We sincerely apologize for the staff's less-than-tactful and blunt communication style on the phone, which caused you displeasure. Another guest discovered that their meal was missing and inquired about it. After checking, we confirmed that you had mistakenly taken it. We contacted you immediately to request a return, but you refused. The other guest then called the police, and only after police intervention did you agree to return the food. All shipping costs for the entire package, from sending to returning, were borne by the hotel; we did not charge you any shipping fees. We have now re-standardized our takeout verification and sorting process, requiring front desk staff to double-check receipts and store them separately. We have also strengthened communication and script training for all staff. We are deeply sorry for the extremely poor experience caused by these multiple issues. The staff member seemed flustered and acted rudely. We will immediately address all issues related to housekeeping, restaurant, breakfast quality, and overall service: optimizing room cleaning standards, upgrading food ingredients and presentation, and strengthening communication and etiquette training for all front desk staff. We apologize for adding a negative experience to your business trip to Shanghai.
