JOYA Hotel Shanghai Gubei

I've been staying at this hotel for years and always loved it. The location is convenient and the breakfast is great. However, this time, I really felt like it's showing its age. The TV remote wasn't working, the TV signal was poor, and screen mirroring was super slow. And my food delivery? It never got brought up to my room. Ugh.

I found a gem of a hotel on this trip to Shanghai! The location is fantastic, making shopping and dining super convenient. The room was spacious and bright, and it even had a smart toilet. The staff were all so warm and attentive. The lovely young lady at the front desk even gave me a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite since it was my first time staying. From now on, whenever I'm in Shanghai for business, I'm choosing Xiyue!

Environment: About 30 minutes from Hongqiao Airport (both subway and taxi take similar time). Service: Check-in and check-out were very convenient, and they gave a small gift upon departure. Facilities: The restaurant on the 12th floor offers a rich selection of Chinese and Western breakfast items, along with à la carte snacks and noodles. Hygiene: Daily cleaning with all consumables replenished.

The cleaning staff were very friendly and the front desk was very helpful. The room was super clean and well-equipped, and the soundproofing was excellent. Highly recommend! The breakfast selection was also quite rich, with both Western and Chinese options to choose from, or you could have it delivered to your room. The hotel's location is fantastic, with many delicious Japanese restaurants in the basement of Takashimaya, right next to a Japanese supermarket.

Stayed for just one night, but the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but the front desk staff were very polite. The surrounding area is also quite convenient. Would recommend to everyone.

This is my third time staying at Gubei Xiyue, and it's just as good as I remember! The facilities, soundproofing, and service are all impeccable. Takashimaya is right across the street, so it's awesome to pop over for a stroll whenever I want. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast was incredibly rich with a fantastic dining environment. The cleaning staff were also super kind and approachable. If I ever need to stay in this area again, I'll definitely choose this place!
