Reviews of Sheraton Shanghai Chongming Hotel

Came for a weekend getaway during a typhoon. Although outdoor activities were out of the question, the indoor options were quite plentiful. The kids' play area and activity room on the second floor, along with the gym and pool on the third floor, were more than enough for the little ones to burn off some energy. The cupcake making activity at the restaurant in the evening made up for the canceled outdoor bubble gun fight due to the typhoon. Overall, it was a good experience. Perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend for a family of three.

The room was very clean, bright, and had a great view! The front desk staff and cleaning ladies were very attentive, making my stay quite comfortable. One more thing worth praising: my child needed to print some materials for online classes, and the front desk staff patiently helped, with an excellent attitude! As a result, I extended my stay for another week. Anyway, when I come with my child for basketball, I'll definitely choose this place again!

This is a great hotel to stay at! It's spacious, offers excellent value for money, and has a kids' play area and a pool, so the little ones had a fantastic time just staying at the hotel.

The room was spacious and the breakfast tasted good, although the selection was a bit limited. The front desk staff were quite helpful. There's a swimming pool and a gym. They also offer a shuttle service between the Sheraton Shanghai Chongming and the Sheraton Grand Pudong.

The room was spacious and very clean, and the smart toilet in the bathroom was a great touch! Breakfast was also good. My only complaint was the duvet inside the quilt cover. For a 5-star hotel, I'd expect a down duvet, or at least a lighter, fluffier one. This one felt like an old, worn-out cotton quilt, which was a bit disappointing. Even homes nowadays don't use duvets like that. Everything else was quite good though.

The room was very clean. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities and equipment are still very well-maintained. The breakfast was also plentiful, and they even offered complimentary afternoon tea, which made the kids very happy.

Built in 2017, the bathroom has no ventilation system whatsoever, and there's no master light switch near the door, so you have to walk all the way to the bed to turn off the lights – a pretty baffling design. It happened to be extremely humid during my stay, and the entire room had a musty smell, like old clothes stored in a trunk. I reported it to the front desk, and they sent up an air purifier, which helped. I checked in on a weekday when there were plenty of empty rooms, yet they still assigned me one facing due east. The breakfast options were limited, and the food wasn't very good either... This Sheraton just isn't up to par.

The room is quite spacious, and the environment is decent. It offers good value for money, and the hotel pool is excellent. However, some of the facilities are a bit dated, and the service level isn't quite up to the standard of a five-star hotel.

This hotel has a bit of a Southeast Asian vibe, and there's a golf course right next to it. The room was good, clean and tidy. Breakfast was just okay, and unfortunately, some guests were smoking in the restaurant without any staff intervention or warning. This is a clear area for improvement and requires better management.

This hotel is pretty good! They upgraded us to a family room, which was a nice touch. All the sharp corners in the room were covered with bumper strips, and they provided kids' slippers and Rubber Ducky toiletries – super thoughtful. The family room had some toys for children. While there wasn't a bed rail, they did offer a cot (though it was a bit old). We went during the off-peak season, so the hotel wasn't crowded at all. The kids' play area was completely empty, which was great for us! It's not a huge space, but perfect for younger children to enjoy. The hotel breakfast was just okay, but their freshly made omelets were delicious!

Our kids loved the family room, especially playing on the rocking horse. All the staff were incredibly welcoming. We lost a shoe in the children's play area, and they even called us in the evening to confirm if we had found it. There's no footboard on the beds, and the cribs are sturdy iron. The noodles at breakfast were delicious, and there was congee and some coarse grains available for the little ones.

Spacious rooms however it felt very humid and corridors smelled damp.

Stayed here during the May Day holiday. The price was significantly higher than usual, but the natural environment was absolutely fantastic! The service was also top-notch. I'll definitely be back in the future and will recommend it to my friends.

Chongming Island has a great environment! I checked into the Sheraton around 8 PM and was upgraded to a suite. My son absolutely loved it! The living room was spacious enough for him to run around. The bedroom and bathroom were also very large. What impressed me was that every table corner in the suite had protective anti-collision strips, which is a huge plus for families traveling with kids. Fittings and furniture in the suite were in excellent condition with minimal wear and tear. The air conditioning, furniture, and everything else were well-maintained. All the lights were working perfectly. I remember two years ago, the maintenance wasn't quite as good, but this time it was superb. The suite offered a lovely view of a river through its large floor-to-ceiling windows. The service was also very responsive to our requests. Room service was convenient and offered good value for money. I also tried the hotel's bicycles, but at 150 yuan, they were a bit pricey, and the bikes themselves weren't great to ride, with somewhat crooked seats.
