Weiliu Youth Hostel (Shanghai People's Square Jing'an Joy City Branch)

Traveling with friends, the stay was super comfortable! There were also adorable cats, and the owner and both front desk staff were wonderful. They even gave us a free room upgrade, and the toilet and bathroom were very clean.

The hotel environment is really nice, and the staff are all very enthusiastic. The guests in the rooms were also very quiet and well-mannered. You can't bring outside food into the rooms, which means there are no strange smells. I'll definitely stay here again next time, really looking forward to it!

The hygiene conditions were excellent, and the facilities were complete. The room was clean and comfortable, with good soundproofing. The location was very convenient, and the front desk staff were warm and welcoming. I'm very satisfied and will definitely stay at this hostel again next time! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

The location is a big plus – it's very close to People's Square, making it super convenient to get around Shanghai's attractions by subway. For a city center location, the price-performance ratio was a pleasant surprise. I stayed in a female dorm with six beds. Each bunk had its own curtain, which provided excellent privacy, and there were lockable lockers for valuables. The bedding was changed promptly, and the air conditioning worked well. The public bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sinks. The female shower area was decorated very cutely, and even during peak hours, I didn't have to wait long. The resident cat was very gentle, and petting it during my downtime at the hotel was incredibly therapeutic. There's a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage is very convenient, and there's also a washing machine available.

This hostel is my go-to whenever I visit Shanghai; it never disappoints! The environment is clean, and the service is excellent. It's right next to Joy City, where there are lots of cosplay and anime conventions. It's super convenient to get anywhere, and there's plenty of great food and fun things to do. Highly recommend it!

Facilities: The facilities are very complete. The front desk provides toothbrushes and earplugs, and I even saw disposable bath towels. The Laifen hair dryer was excellent. However, the door to the single room was transparent, very transparent (see photo 4), which made me, as a woman, feel very unsafe. Also, the charger was too far from the pillow, so I couldn't charge my phone and use it while lying down. This is definitely something to be aware of. Service: The service attitude was great. They answered all my questions, and the staff were very enthusiastic. Hygiene: The environment was truly terrible. I booked a single room, and when I entered, there was a strange, damp, and moldy smell. The bed sheets weren't clean either; they had crumbs and oil stains, which was really unpleasant for anyone staying there. I immediately ordered a disposable sleeping bag. Moreover, the desk was completely uncleaned, covered in crumbs. The toilet was okay in terms of hygiene, definitely cleaner than the room itself.

The space is quite generous, and it's very close to Joy City. The private room looks good, but unfortunately, it doesn't have a window. There are several shower stalls, so you usually don't have to wait long. All the toilets are standard flush toilets, but the bathroom space is a bit small.
