Hotels in Hongqiao Airport/National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai

Different room types. Next time, I'd like to try a room with a view of planes taking off and landing. The soundproofing in the room is excellent, and it has both a shower and a bathtub. The air conditioning provides plenty of warm air. It's located right on the airport departure level, which makes traveling by plane incredibly convenient.

The hotel is very close to Hongqiao Railway Station, which is convenient for early morning trains. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and clean. You can order takeout or cook your own meals. The staircase is also wide, making it easy to go up and down.

As a picky person who pays attention to every detail, I honestly couldn't find a single fault with this hotel! The environment is unbelievably quiet; once you close the door, it's your own little world, completely free from the sound of traffic downstairs. The service was impeccable. When I wanted some hot water at night, I called the front desk, and a staff member brought it up in just a few minutes, even thoughtfully including two paper cups. As for the facilities, the smart toilet, high-speed WiFi, and blackout curtains – every single one was a delight. Plus, the hygiene was top-notch; all the glassware was sealed with cling film, which made me feel incredibly reassured.

The basic service level and personalized touches need significant improvement. Check-in was slow, and the front desk staff didn't even make eye contact with guests, let alone offer a smiling service (which, to be fair, might be asking too much with so many people daily). I've always thought welcome fruit was a standard offering at hotels of this caliber, but there was nothing, even though guests might not always eat it. And don't even get me started on the basic children's playground; I didn't see one. During check-in, they didn't offer any upgrades or complimentary services, and I wasn't expecting them; I believe in getting what you pay for. But they didn't even fulfill the most basic duty of informing me about things like breakfast buffet times and location; I had to ask about everything myself. If I had to pick one thing worth praising, it would be the most dedicated person in the lobby: the handsome, somewhat white-haired 'grandpa' from the concierge team. Whenever I passed by, he was always alert and observant. The moment you looked at him, he'd immediately smile and acknowledge you, as if he was constantly ready to assist. He's incredibly professional; even if you have no request and are just passing through, he'll briefly make eye contact, and if he sees you have no needs, he'll continue scanning the lobby for other guests, always maintaining an excellent work ethic. Thumbs up to him! 👍 Overall, compared to other InterContinental hotels or their sister brands like Hualuxe, Kimpton, or Voco in other cities, this stay was quite disappointing.

The location is very convenient, close to the airport and railway station. The environment is good. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

I even checked out the gym this time, and seeing the lights of cars coming and going at Hongqiao Airport through the glass curtain wall at night was a truly unique experience. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times. It's very new and offers late-night snacks. The service is incredibly detailed, warm, and polite. The breakfast spread is extensive, and they pay attention to small details like providing earplugs and eye masks. The slippers are made of terry cloth. The design of the laundry room and gym area near the front desk is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Overall, every stay here is very comfortable.

The room was spacious and very clean! There are restaurants and snack bars right downstairs, making dining incredibly convenient. It's also quite close to the airport, which made getting there really easy. The staff were very welcoming. Overall, I was extremely satisfied!

The room was clean and tidy, equipped with modern and smart facilities, and the bed provided an exceptionally comfortable sleep. A very average hotel, but the price is affordable, which matches its positioning. There are many Southeast Asian tourists inside, like from Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia, probably all tour groups. Facilities: Very ordinary. The gym is practically non-existent. The toilet and shower are decent, basic Kohler models, so they're fine. The toothbrush is the hardest and crudest I've ever seen; I recommend bringing your own. Cleanliness: Average. Environment: The surrounding area is quite desolate, but there's a large Wanda mall about a ten-minute walk away. Service: The front desk staff are all good, especially the round-faced girl with glasses who checked me in; she was very friendly. The hotel breakfast is very basic, not much variety, and the taste isn't great. However, for this price, it's forgivable.
