A hotel with a great environment and very new facilities. The overall comfort is good. The hotel is located in the core area of Luodian Ancient Town. The location is easy to find, with free parking, very clean, smart toilets, and unique showers. I haven't seen them in other hotels. They are quite novel. The feature of the hotel is that it is all smart, with Xiaodu smart system and robot service. Takeout can be delivered directly to the door. It is a very user-friendly design. The overall stay experience is great!

The lobby already has a Christmas atmosphere, the room is very clean, the room delivery is very fast, the service attitude of the front desk lady is very good, and it is still very comfortable to stay overnight. The sound insulation is also very good during the one-night stay, the sanitation and cleaning are also very good, and the attitude of the room service is also very good. As a newly opened hotel, the room has no odor at all. When passing by the lobby, I also smelled the exclusive fragrance of Atour, which smells very good.

This is a Chinese courtyard building with blue bricks and tiles, and horse heads on the wall. As an Atour brand hotel, the comfort is as always, and the pillows needless to say have become a celebrity in the surrounding area. There are not many breakfast varieties, but it can be served until 11 o'clock on weekends, just as brunch. It is good to stay in Atour on a business trip to Baoshan. It is also close to Longhu Lake and very convenient for eating and shopping.

The last stay at Atour Hotel was great. The design style of the hotel is warm and tasteful, full of strong cultural atmosphere. The front desk staff is very warm and professional, and the check-in is fast and efficient. The facilities in the room are complete and clean, the bedding is comfortable, especially the softness of the mattress is just right, making people sleep well all night. The air in the hotel is fresh, the sound insulation effect of the room is also very good, and the noise from the outside is completely not heard. The breakfast is rich in variety, the ingredients are fresh, and the restaurant environment is clean and warm.

This time I went to Shanghai to visit my son, and I booked this Four Seasons Hotel on Ctrip. The stay experience can be said to be very good. First of all, the hotel has a large parking lot, which is very convenient for parking! The front of the hotel is also simple and upscale. Entering the hotel lobby, it is very clean and tidy, and the interior decoration is also my favorite style! The two male and female staff at the service desk are very polite! The service is enthusiastic! I instantly lost the sense of unfamiliarity in a strange place. Everything is so natural and warm. I can't help but order a big one for them from the bottom of my heart. It is said that this Four Seasons Hotel Nanda Road Branch is newly opened, so the facilities are new and complete, there are casual drinks, and there are robot services. The room design is refreshing and comfortable! The vanity, smart toilet and bathroom are all good! And the water pressure is very high. Although the hotel is backed by a residential area, it is also very quiet to rest during the day and at night! The hotel provides breakfast, with various choices, including porridge, noodles, cakes, soy milk, etc. The taste of the dishes also suits my taste, and the dining time is limited to 9:30. The price of the hotel is a bit high, but the actual cost performance is still acceptable, because this is Shanghai after all. Overall, we are very satisfied with this stay experience! Attached are a few pictures, and I will stay here again next time. I would also like to thank the two handsome men and beautiful women for their warm service, which made us feel at home! Thank you!

We needed to renovate our house temporarily, so we found this hotel nearby. I was quite nervous about staying in a hotel with my baby, but I didn't expect it to be a treasure hotel. The service staff was very friendly and kind, the bedding was clean, the breakfast was rich and delicious, the facilities were new, all intelligently controlled, the tea was delicious, and the hotel was thoughtful everywhere. It is highly recommended!

Thank you very much for upgrading me and delaying check-out. This hotel is at the entrance of Gate 2 of Gucun Park. The room is newly renovated, retro and generous, and the bed is soft and comfortable. The house is basically equipped with smart products. Although the price is affordable, the service is excellent, which makes me feel that it is worth the money. I will choose this hotel again when I come to Gucun next time, and I will recommend it to my friends.

The hotel room is very spacious and the hot water is relatively large, so it is comfortable to take a shower. In addition, the TV in the hotel also uses a high-definition LCD TV. When you can't sleep at night, you can enjoy the same visual effects as a private theater. First of all, the hotel service is very good and very considerate. The hotel also prepares several bottles of water and drinks every day. The service is really good. It is worth staying

The hotel is new, rooms were neat and had good amenities. Staff and overall service was really good. The location is a bit isolated. We went there to have a night stay and visit Gucun park. It's 20 mint drive from the park. Our stay was really nice. We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast as it was not according to 5 star standards. Less options especially for western dishes. Quality of food was also so so. Not many options for fruit and juices as well (they were serving colla as a second option to orange juice). Don't recommend to pay 130 for breakfast if you wish to have western breakfast. For Chinese people they had some options. Btw our overall experience was nice.

Shanghai Gucun Park Area Hotel Guide

Shanghai Travel

Shanghai, or “Hu” as the locals call it, is perched right at the mouth of the Yangtze River. Sure, it’s famous for its fast-paced business vibe and skyline, but honestly, there’s so much more to discover here beyond the glitz and glass towers.

Take a leisurely stroll along The Bund, where grand European-style buildings line the riverbank, with gorgeous views of the sleek skyscrapers in Lujiazui just across the water. Lose yourself in the charm of quiet streets lined with shikumen houses—traditional stone homes that have stood for over a century. Step back in time at Yu Garden, a peaceful oasis that feels like a slice of ancient China, or feel the buzz of Nanjing Road with its shops and street food.

Most travelers spend about 3–4 days exploring Shanghai, but if you’ve got extra time, consider adding a couple of days to visit nearby cities like Suzhou, Hangzhou. Shanghai is full of surprises—modern and traditional, fast and slow. So pack your bags and come see Shanghai for yourself!

Getting to and Around Shanghai

Alright, so you’re all set to explore Shanghai! Let’s talk about how to get there and get around. No matter if you’re flying, taking a train, or even arriving by bus, getting to Shanghai is as easy as it gets.

If you’re flying, Shanghai’s got two main airports: Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). Honestly, both airports are super convenient—it just depends on where you’re flying in from or heading to next.

Pudong Airport is about 45 kilometers from downtown and handles most international flights. You can get to the city by metro, an airport bus, or if you’re feeling fancy, the Maglev Train—it’s fast and kinda cool!

On the other hand, Shanghai Hongqiao airport is just 15 kilometers from the city center and mostly deals with domestic flights. You’ve got metro lines 2 and 10 to zip you straight to the action. If you’re looking to keep it simple, consider staying at one of the hotels near the PVG airports that offer shuttle services. It’s a lifesaver, especially when you’re tired from traveling or catching a red eye flights. Less stress, more time for fun—what’s not to love?

Once in the city, getting around is quite easy. The city’s metro is one of the best ways to get around—it’s fast, affordable, and connects to almost everywhere. Taxis and buses are also readily available, though traffic can get a bit busy at times.

  • Metro: Shanghai metro fares are based on distance. The first 6 km costs CNY 3, and each additional 10 km adds CNY 1. It’s quite affordable. Note that you’ll need to pass through security at both metro and train stations, so allow extra time for bag checks.
  • Buses (公交): Shanghai’s buses, or 公交, cover many routes but may be tricky for tourists. Fares start at CNY 2, and all buses are air-conditioned. For short trips, buses can be cheaper than the metro.
  • Taxis (出租车): Taxis are available, but it’s easier to book through an app than to hail one on the street. Fares start at CNY 14, and ride-sharing apps like Didi Chuxing can offer cheaper options (around 60-70% of regular taxi fares).

Best Districts to Stay in Shanghai

If you’re not sure where to stay, areas like Nanjing Road, or Jing’an District are great options.

Look, if you're visiting Shanghai for the first time, do yourself a favor and stay near Nanjing Road. I've had countless friends visit, and this area never disappoints! You'll be right next to The Bund, surrounded by amazing food spots, and the subway can zip you anywhere in the city.

Sure, Jing'an is lovely with its temples and fancy malls, Changning District is also really chill with beautiful parks like Shanghai Zoo and the beautiful Zhongshan Park.

Top Things to Do in Shanghai

Here are several top attractions for first-time visitors to explore!

  • Shanghai Disneyland: Shanghai Disneyland, opened in 2016, is Disney’s first park in mainland China. It's the only Disney park in the world to have a Zootopia-themed land, where you can join Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on an exciting ride called “Zootopia: Hot Pursuit.” Plan your visit on a weekday if possible to avoid long queues.
  • The Bund: The Bund, stretching 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) along the Huangpu River, is the most symbolic spot of the city. Running from Waibaidu Bridge to Nanpu Bridge, it’s known for its gorgeous collection of 52 historic buildings in styles like Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism, and Renaissance. Despite being designed and built at different times, these buildings blend together beautifully.
  • Nanjing Road: Nanjing Road is Shanghai’s busiest shopping street and a favorite for both locals and visitors. You’ll find everything from high-end brands to traditional shops, along with plenty of places to grab a bite. It’s a great place to soak up the city’s energy, and it conveniently leads straight to The Bund.
  • Oriental Pearl Tower: In Pudong, the Shanghai Tower soars to 632 meters (2,074 feet), making it the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world. The building is spirally upward, like the shape of Chinese dragon. From the 118th-floor observation deck, you can enjoy a close view of the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and the Shanghai World Financial Center, while also taking in sweeping views of the entire city. You can head up to observation decks for panoramic views of the city or even enjoy a meal in the revolving restaurant.
  • Yu Garden: For a glimpse of Shanghai’s traditional side, Yu Garden is the place to be. This 400-year-old garden is filled with elegant pavilions, koi ponds, and rockeries that create a peaceful escape from the city’s buzz. Just outside, the bustling bazaar offers everything from souvenirs to local snacks. It’s the perfect mix of serenity and energy, and a must-visit for anyone exploring Shanghai’s cultural heritage.

GGuest UserThis hotel is the latest hotel around Meilan Lake. It can be imagined that the environment in the hotel is very good. The equipment is relatively new. There is a robot service. At night, toothbrushes and fast food are sent by robots. The daughter is very happy to see the robot to send things. The afternoon of the check-in day is also intimate. The fruit was delivered. I didn’t expect the breakfast environment the next day. I feel that the price matches the environment and service here. The next morning, I thickened my face and asked for a fruit. Haha. When I left the hotel, Xiaolong at the front desk was actually suitable for very beautiful and gentle. The front desk gave a small gift intimately. I went out to play and stayed in such a hotel every year. This is a very good value for money. The best service.

GGuest UserI came to Gucun with my friends to see the cherry blossoms. I saw that this hotel is very cost-effective, so we came to try it out. We were not disappointed. You can see the cherry blossoms in the lobby. It is beautiful and the supporting facilities are also very good, including a robot, a microwave, and a washing machine. . . . The parking spaces at the door are also good. Although there are not many spaces, they are available if you come early. It is convenient and free of charge. The room saves the atmosphere and is very refreshing. The hygiene is very good at first glance, and they are all outside windows. The price/performance ratio is highly recommended.
