Room was clean. Amenities provided are adequate. The room is equipped with oxygen concentrator and humidifier, good for us as the weather in shangri-la is really dry to us. The host offered pick up from railway station. Hotel location is not too bad, short walking distance to the famous Guishan park. Nearby got convenient shop and restaurant also.

The oxygen concentrator is useful for people with altitude sickness, but it is useless for us. Hahahaha, it shows that the boss still takes care of people with altitude sickness in detail.
Hygiene: The room hygiene is very good, the toilet is a smart toilet, the hot water is hot, and the bathroom has good heating.
Environment: The homestay is right next to the ancient city, and you can walk to the ancient city, which is very convenient. The homestay also has its own parking lot, which is very convenient for us who drove from Fujian.
Service: The owner's own homestay, locals, and the restaurant next door is also opened by their family. The rice noodles and barley cakes for breakfast are delicious. After heating, they are satisfied. If there is a chance next time, I will choose their home again!

From Kunming-Dali-Shangri-La, this accommodation is the most comfortable one I have ever stayed in. The layout of the room is very reasonable, and the toilet and bathroom are separated. The toiletries used are not of bad quality. The sanitation is also cleaned very cleanly. The environment on the first floor of the homestay is a bit ins. style, and there are 2 fat cats and a super large dog. The service is also very good. In the morning, there is breakfast made by the boss, and hot ginger tea will be delivered to the door in the evening. When we left, the boss lady also gave us a small gift. The overall feeling is very good. Next time I have a chance, I will stay here again. I like it very much😍

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming accommodation. The place is very near to the main road where the taxi can drop you off right at the doorstep. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Zhang Hui 张慧 and her husband who made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, providing helpful tips about the area and checking in to see if we needed anything.
The room itself was a sanctuary of comfort. The rooms were exceptionally cozy, spacious and warm. We really appreciate the heated floor!
Overall, our experience was nothing short of wonderful. This place truly has it all: a clean and comfortable room with skylight, a stunning courtyard and amazing hosts who really care about their guests. Can't wait to return for another stay!

Very odd and not welcoming for foreign tourist. Very loud family and guests staying, rooms not soundproof, could not get a good night sleep. Would not recommend. Shower and toilet - Very odd set up, dangerous as you have to walk through the wet shower to use a toilet.

There’s washing machine and even extra jackets that can be borrowed from the hotel as we undermine the cold in Shangrila the puffer jacket we borrowed really help us a lot with the cold. the hotel is host by a family at the center of Dukezong old town. room is very big and is equipped with a heated floor (which is a must there since the weather is cold). the toilet can consider as smart toilet with the smart bowl and heated shower room.

This hotel truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by its cleanliness and the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The service is nothing short of excellent—they even offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off to the train station, which made our journey so much easier.
The hotel provides everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The room is spacious, with a big TV screen and a cozy sofa for relaxation. The thoughtful amenities include a heated floor and bed, which were perfect for the cold weather. Even the toilet seat has a heater and a bidet, making it incredibly convenient and comfortable. They also provide additional oxygen in the room—a great touch, especially for those who might feel the effects of high altitude.
The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! Imagine waking up to stunning mountain scenery, lush green grasslands, and sheep grazing peacefully—it’s like a dream come true. To make our stay even more special, they upgraded our room for free to one with a luxurious bathtub!
For Muslim travelers, this hotel is incredibly accommodating—they provided us with a delicious vegetarian breakfast, so we felt completely at ease. However, please be mindful when sitting on the sofas as their adorable, friendly dog loves to sit there too and might come to greet you. Their dog is super cute and playful, adding a warm and homey touch to the stay!
One of the most delightful surprises was that the hotel provides traditional Chinese costumes for free! We had so much fun dressing up and taking beautiful photos. It made us feel like royalty from an ancient Chinese dynasty—truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
Despite the language barrier, the staff were incredibly helpful in accommodating our needs. They went above and beyond to assist us, offering suggestions, pinpointing locations, and ensuring we had everything we needed. A big thumbs up to the staff member whose picture I shared (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name). The hotel owner should truly give her credit for her exceptional service—it made our stay even more memorable!
This hotel is located near the stunning Napahai Lake, not Dukezong Ancient City. If you’re planning to stay close to Dukezong, this might not be the best choice. But trust me, you don’t need to stay near Dukezong—this hotel is so good, it’s worth being a little further away. The peaceful surroundings, incredible service, and top-notch amenities make it more than worth it!
Another fantastic perk is the nearby e-bike rental. We rented bikes and had an amazing time exploring the beautiful Napahai area and enjoying the serene countryside.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers from Malaysia. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Trust me, you won’t regret staying here—it’s a memory you’ll cherish forever!

Environment: Very close to the ancient city, stayed for two nights, and walked to the ancient city for three days to stroll and eat, there are so many places to eat nearby

XXiaoguixifeifeiThe owner of the inn is very kind. He even came to pick me and my friend up at the high-speed rail station when we arrived at 11pm! Then when we left, the boss got up at 6 o'clock in the morning to take us to the high-speed rail station. When we arrived at 11 o'clock in the evening, the boss helped us get in touch with us to take a ride to the Meili Snow Mountain to see the Rizhao Jinshan Mountain. We arrived at the B&B and drank fruit and butter tea! The sanitary environment is very good! The equipment is all brand new and said to be newly opened this year! Highly recommend everyone to stay here

The B&B has an Alaskan dog, so cute! I have to play with it every day. It snowed in Shangri-La on the day I went there, and the Napahai Lake along the way was particularly beautiful! There are many cattle, sheep and horses along the way

GGuest UserFeifan Hotel is conveniently located in Shangri La Old Town (Dukezong) and is fully accessible by car/taxi, which can drop you off right in front of the hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated, paying homage to the town's Tibetan's roots, which is what makes the hotel very charming to me. The room itself is very clean comfortable to stay in, the amenities and kits provided are more than plentiful. The floors in front of the bathroom are also heated, which is very surprising (I wasn't expecting that). The loveliest aspect of my stay would have to be the kind hotel staff who were very helpful and welcoming to us starting from our arrival (the cups of warm tea was very relieving during the cold night). A couple of hotel staff members can converse in English, which was very helpful for us as we are foreign tourists. I appreciated the conversations I had with a staff member during breakfast about the various foods that was on offer. I also appreciated the little gift that was given to us when we checked out as the hotel staff seemed to notice that I did enjoyed several cups of butter tea during my breakfast and the help with arranging a car to transport us to the train station. Overall, I am very impressed with our stay here and would not hesitate at all to recommend anyone to stay here. It is worth it!

The room was comfortable, and the water pressure and heater worked perfectly.
The Wi-Fi was very stable as well. (For foreigners, do bear in mind, if you connect to hotel wifi, you would need to connect to VPN in order to use WhatsApp, IG or Youtube)
This is a 9-year-old property, so there are some flaws that can be improved, but that is understandable.
My only feedback is about the F&B restaurant; they only have one all-day dining option. Breakfast was alright, with more of a local selection.
I stayed for two nights. On the first day, there was staff available to help me and serve my cafe latte order. However, on the second day, I did not see any staff on standby, so I had to make my own cafe latte (I had to froth the milk), which I found awkward.
I wish the staff were more well trained, but I understand it is low season and the hotel probably hired part-timers for service.
The best highlight of my stay was meeting a lady named Rose He, who is part of the guest services team (i think). She made recommendations on where to go and even found us a local driver to take us around. She was extremely kind and polite. We exchanged WeChat information, and she texted me when the weather turned cold or rainy. She also helped us to arrange complimentary transportation to the train station. It felt personalized. Shangri-La, if you are reading this, I believe she deserves a token of appreciation. She is the true star and a great example of “hospitality.”

GGuest UserThe best thing about this hotel is the view from the room. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets! I really don't understand why it has such good reviews as I don't think it deserves them. Our room was really dirty - the first thing I saw when I walked in was dirt on the floor and clumps of hair in the corner by the furniture as well as hair on the floor. The most revolting thing was the bath mat on the floor - the parts of it that should have been white were a very dirty brown - it obviously hadn't been washed in many months. The ”fitted” sheets on the bed had bleach stains on them and they didn't fit the bed properly as they didn't tuck under the mattress which meant it came loose during the night. The mattress was very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) - there was no mattress protector on the bed or protectors on the pillows. The walls are paper thin and, unfortunately, we had three very loud and excitable young women next door to us who talked and laughed very loudly until after midnight on all three nights we were there. The room wasn't serviced for the 3 nights we were there and we had to ask for extra toilet paper and water as they didn't put any in on the first day. We also had to empty our own bins and ask them to come and collect them from outside our door. The staff were friendly enough, but they seemed to spend all day on their phones lounging around in the rather untidy and dirty looking reception area. All the common areas were dirty too - the staircase hadn't been vacuumed any time recently as there was dirt on every stair. The place has a very neglected and uncared for feel about it which is a real pity as it could be lovely if some time and effort was put into making it clean and tidy and updating the furniture and bedding. It seems that the staff are very bored with their jobs and have no interest in keeping the place nice for customers.

MMarkGreat hotel on the top of a hill looking across the town. The room was spacious with views, the bathroom area large. The staff were helpful when approached and always smiling.
The walk to the hotel is challenging at night when the air is damp. We purchased some oxygen from the grumpy man's shop at the bottom of the hill, which eased the walk. The staff assisted carrying our bags up and down the hill whenever required, which was great.
Unfortunately, they didn't clean our room during our 3 night stay, which meant we had to ask for toilet paper each day, and the toilet bin never got emptied.

GGuest UserI was skeptical about TeaHorse at first due to the lack of reviews but this turned out to be a wonderful stay! We stayed here overnight on our 2 day hike through the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
We upgraded to the Deluxe Standard Room (for extra 50 CNY) since the room is newer and slightly bigger. The ensuite toilet was basic but very clean. The beds were also heated and the aircon could be used for heating and cooling.
The guesthouse also runs a restaurant cooking homecooked meals and a cafe/bar boasting a beautiful view. We felt that the view from TeaHorse was better than the one at Halfway House, which seems to be the more popular resting spot amongst hikers. The view of stars from the cafe viewpoint at night is also amazing.
The staff helped us book a return bus to Lijiang, which left from Tina’s guesthouse the next day. Tina’s was a 4h hike from TeaHorse and we boarded the bus back to Lijiang Old Town with no problem.
Overall a lovely stay and would highly recommend this room as an overnight rest point for hikers.
