Kim is the coolest! She’s so hospitable and helpful. You can eat dinner in the hostel, and it’s easy to meet other travellers. You can do self-service laundry (useful after hiking). Cozy and perfect place for a budget-friendly stay!

I had so much fun in here! Found myself extending my stay in one more day for 6 times!! everything is in good condition and make a pleasant stay, but what i lovek the most was the people! We had a few shared dinner together, had fun in the old city, and went to a hike together. Made some amazing friends!! Kim the owner is lovely and didn't let me leave even after a week hahaha

The room was clean and the mattress was soft. They also provided bath towels, shampoo, and shower gel. The common area on the second floor, a sunroom, was spacious with private cubicles and a pool table. There's also a sunroom on the third floor for drying clothes. Many international guests stay here. It's strictly non-smoking and eating in the rooms isn't allowed. You can also join communal meals, and the food was excellent. My sleep environment was guaranteed to be peaceful. I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Shangri-La. It's the most comfortable hostel I've ever stayed in.

What an amazing place first of all i have to talk about the staff. Kim was incredible, spoke perfect English and made the hostel really feel like home! it was my Birthday and when she heard she organised a cake for me ❤️❤️❤️ There are regular activities to get involved in, and a great social common space upstairs in addition to two spaces downstairs to relax in Information about tours and attractions is always available and the staff are very helpful it's a 10 minute walk from the Ancient city so you are very close but far enough to be seperate from the business overall, a perfect place from which to discover Shangri-La. i hope to return one day!

One of the best hostels I've been to in China. It's located just outside the old city, so you can get there easily, without having to deal with the noise. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and she has great English. Hot water was a bit of a hit or miss. However, the rest of the facilities were functioning well. The place offers a prominent sociable environment, due to its welcoming common place and organized shared activities.

Absolutely loved this guesthouse! Friends from all corners of China, and even the world, gathered here to chat, drink, and play games. The whole atmosphere was so joyful and harmonious. Everyone I met was interesting and positive. I'll definitely be back!

I've stayed in many hostels across the country, but this is the first one I've truly wanted to recommend to everyone! The atmosphere is fantastic, the scenery is beautiful, it's clean and tidy, and the owner is lovely. It's especially amazing to just sit on the sofa and zone out when the sun is out. This is hands down the best value-for-money hostel I've ever stayed in. The owner even gave me a ticket to a stage play! If you love ethnic culture, you'll be absolutely thrilled! Highly, highly recommend!!!
