MoYe | Snow Mountain Cliff Hotel (Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge Hotel)

The sink in my room was leaking, and the next morning at breakfast, the table next to us mentioned their bathtub was also leaking badly, with water all over the floor. The bathroom floor tiles are incredibly slippery; if you stay here, definitely wear shoes! The step at the entrance of the western restaurant unexpectedly juts out and is very easy to trip over, which is quite dangerous. The lights above the bed shine directly into your eyes when you lie down, and there were a lot of fingerprints on the door right when we checked in. At the popular photo spot with the large glass window, there are no queuing instructions, which easily leads to conflicts! They also don't state that the chairs are for photo purposes only! In summary, the hotel's design is innovative, and the glass window makes for great photos, but unfortunately, the details are not up to par, making it very poor value for money.

Choosing Mo Ye for my trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge in Shangri-La was absolutely the right decision! I was completely captivated after just one stay; it's truly a top-tier luxury wilderness hotel in China. Perched on a 1,860-meter cliff, its location is unparalleled. It's perfectly situated between the gaps of Jade Dragon and Haba Snow Mountains. Opening the window reveals panoramic views of both snow-capped peaks, with the roaring Jinsha River's Tiger Leaping Gorge below. The massive floor-to-ceiling windows frame the majestic mountains and rivers perfectly within the room, allowing you to lie in bed and wait for the golden glow of the sunrise on the peaks. This kind of visual shock from a vertical cliff can only be truly understood through personal experience – it feels like living inside a National Geographic cover. Our cave-style room was incredibly well-designed, with rock textures blending seamlessly with nature. The mineral-inspired aesthetic felt incredibly high-end. The huge private hot tub on the terrace guarantees amazing photos – every shot is a filter-free masterpiece. Even better, comfort hasn't been sacrificed for style: smart bathrooms, zero-pressure mattresses, and top-quality bedding ensure ultimate comfort even in this raw cliff environment. The amenities and services are simply impeccable. The cliffside cafe offers unbeatable views, making coffee overlooking the gorge an incredibly atmospheric experience. The clifftop infinity pool is a must-visit. The Chinese restaurant serves excellent food, with a perfect fusion of local dishes and Cantonese cuisine. Breakfast is plentiful, and they even offer heartwarming desserts and a parting gift when you check out. The hotel also provides safe trekking routes for Tiger Leaping Gorge, with a guide accompanying you throughout and taking photos – every detail is thoughtfully covered. From check-in to check-out, the staff were professional, enthusiastic, and attentive throughout, perfectly combining top-notch facilities with a warm experience. This is definitely a new landmark for luxury wilderness hotels in China. It's a must-stay when visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge, and you'll be completely smitten after one visit. I'll choose this place again on my next trip to Shangri-La!

Great hotel, worth revisiting. The breakfast was delicious, the room was nice, and the view was fantastic.

This hotel is seriously photogenic! The first picture was taken in the common area cafe, and in the morning, there were hardly any people, so it felt like I had the whole place to myself. That's one of the perks of staying here – you can wake up, grab breakfast, and immediately start taking photos. It's super suitable for introverts (though in the afternoon and evening, it gets very crowded with lots of tourists and hikers coming to take pictures). My stay felt great. If you value privacy, I recommend choosing a room type like 'Cloud Terrace' or higher. I especially want to commend their pet-friendly policy. It's genuinely awesome to bring your pet when you're driving yourself. Breakfast in the morning is free, and there's a complimentary sweet soup in the evening. The staff, especially the bellboys, provided excellent service; they helped with luggage and were very enthusiastic. My experience was fantastic. They also offer free laundry service, and my clothes were ready in just four hours. Overall, besides the famous cafe, the rooms and other common areas of the hotel are also perfect for taking photos. The hotel has a unique design, built into the mountainside with stunning views. The staff are very warm and attentive. It's perfectly located at the end of the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge hike, making it ideal for resting after your trek. The hotel also organizes Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge hikes twice a day, which is a fantastic bonus.
