Sean’s Guesthouse

I am so glad I didn’t stay at Tina’s. I had booked with them but after trouble organising my luggage transfer I got hold of Rosey at Sean’s GH and she made my whole trip run so smoothly! She speaks perfect English and arranged for a transfer from Lijiang and looked after my luggage while I didn’t trek. The guest house is the original and oldest guesthouse and has so much character. The rooms are warm with incredible views. Rosey also gave me a room upgrade and after the 2 days trekking I definitely appreciate the little bath to soak my feet. I also enjoyed learning about walnuts, as the house is surrounded by walnut trees and made from walnut wood. Rosey also helped me arrange onwards travel to the white water terraces and her aunty cooked a delicious dinner for me. Couldn’t be happier with my stay. Will definitely come here next time I’m back!

What an amazing stay!! We loved staying at Sean’s G.H - after a big two days of hiking, it is the perfect location and atmosphere to recover, rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Lovely Rosey was very helpful with our online questions, she speaks perfect English so we were able to hear the history of the guesthouse and surrounding areas to hike and visit. Her aunty also cooked us meals that made our bellies very happy - an extensive menu of teas and sweets too :3. Very clean, warm and cosy for cooler months, and stocked all amenities you could need. Thank you Rosey and Aunty!

We enjoy staying at Sean's the most whenever we're in Tiger Leaping Gorge. The staff is always very helpful and responsive, and we love the food! Looking forward yo the next time.

I’m so glad I stayed here! Sean’s guesthouse is right in the gorge,  and yet completely accessible by car. The  most exquisite view from the courtyard and our bedroom window. Charming cosy retro rooms, warmly lit inside and out, and the comfiest bed for the best nights sleep. Myself, my young daughter and adult son all LOVED the whole setting (first guesthouse in the gorge!) Rose is fluent in English and told me the history of the guesthouse - so interesting! She helped me hang out my laundry  before we set off for our hike, and gave us good options to get to our next stops on our trip to the Yunnan province - communicating with all the necessary people on our behalf. Many options for breakfast too.  Great value for money. If I come back to the Yunnan province I am staying here for sure. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The corner room has the best view!! This guesthouse is 2km away from Tina's guesthouse. The host is super kind ! Everything was great!

We arrived following our hike and Shaun’s was a welcome paradise. It has a lovely traditional feel and the service is excellent. The room has a fantastic aspect over the valley and all amenities are very good. From here we were able to walk down to the river and spend some quiet and uninterrupted time enjoying it’s majesty. Rosey is a mine of information for travellers. Her English is very good and she gave us lots of local information and arranged onward transport and recommended places to visit in Shangri La. I recommend anyone who walks the trail stays here!

Such a quiet and peaceful place, with incredible views. A little far from the main tourist places, but it's only a plus because there are no crowds of tourists and you can see the real life of the locals. The hostess cooks homemade dishes in her restaurant and helped us order a transfer to Linzian directly from the hotel. We would like to go back there again.

We loved our stay at Sean’s GH. The traditional architecture is beautiful, stone and carved wood , and blends in the quiet beauty of the surrounding mountains. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place to explore the surroundings- we did various walks, including part of the Gorge. We highly recommend Sean’s GH to explore that part of the area.
