A good location which is near Duzekong Ancient Town/shopping town, around 10 minute walk. The hotel is on an elevated part of the city so you can see the ancient village from the hotel especially if you book the room that we booked. The hotel room is large with basic necessities. It has a large balcony which overlooks the city which we truly enjoyed. The owners are super nice but only speak a little English.

Very nice Little Hostel with hot water shower and nice courtyard…very friendly stuff
The girls were waiting us because of late arrival and help us to book our next Transport.

Maybe the best place to stay in Shangrila. Located just outside the north gate of the old city, in a pretty old courtyard full of flowers. The owners are friendly and can help organize trips and drivers. ( Their English is limited, but but with translation apps communication is easy.) if you’re lucky, you may be able to get the top floor room, with private balcony and view over the old and new city and the “revolutionary martyrs” cemetery that’s right behind the buildings. I plan to stay here again if I return to Shangrila!

Comfortable and clean place to stay within a few minutes walk away from the old town. Hosts are very friendly and easy to talk to. They are also knowledgeable about surrounding areas and can help arrange transport for onward travel if needed.

A great place to stay! A friend recommended it and it turned out to be everything that she said. When we arrived we were given a lot of useful info and tips about the area. The room was cozy and super clean. It’s just a few minutes walk to one of the entrances to the old city. They make an amazing egg, cheese and bacon sandwich that was easy to take with you for lunch. 一个很不错的客栈！一个朋友推荐的，她说的跟实际的情况一直。一到就给我们不少的有用的资料和推荐。房间很舒服和非常干净。只要走几分钟就到古城的一个门口。她做鸡蛋芝士和培根的三明治很好吃，很方便带走在中午吃。

A great find, the owner speaks perfect English and gave us loads on information on Shangri-La and hiking to Yubeng. She also rescued us when altitude sickness hit and arranged our travel out of Upper Yubeng. Breakfast was to a good standard (western) and wonderful service. The rooms have heating and hot water, bed was more than comfortable - a perfect place to stay if you’re stopping in Shangri-La!

Owner was the best. Top floor room was the best the view was the best the terrace was the best. Would not stay anywhere else when I go back

Wow, what a guest house! The room we had was basic but immaculately clean with a comfy bed and soft sheets. What makes this place truly special is the care from the owner. Nothing was too much for her, she organised our trips to Balagezong National Park and helped us plan our next stop in Yubeng. She even called our onward guest houses to get their wechat and location pin for us. 100% would recommend staying here to anyone looking to really explore northern Yunnan and Shangri-La.
