Shantou Grand Guest Hotel

This landmark hotel, steeped in the city's cultural heritage and collective memory, is a true emblem of the city and an imprint of an era. The hotel has been revitalized to five-star standards, embracing a New Chinese aesthetic with traditional Chaoshan elements like gold lacquer wood carvings, mosaic porcelain, and Chao embroidery. The first-floor Western restaurant offers a complimentary afternoon tea with simple pastries and fruits. On the second floor, the Tea Art House provides an opportunity to experience Chaoshan Kung Fu Tea and delve into tea culture. The third floor features a heated swimming pool, while the fifth floor houses a Chinese restaurant serving Chaoshan-style dim sum. The 25th-floor Revolving Palace, once the only high-altitude revolving restaurant in Eastern Guangdong and renowned as one of the "Eight Scenes of Shantou," offers 360-degree panoramic city views and a variety of buffet options.

The hotel was very comfortable and the room was spotless. We received a variety of snacks delivered to our room every day. All the doormen were incredibly welcoming, helping with luggage and opening car doors. The front desk also offered great recommendations for local food, and the hot pot they suggested was absolutely delicious!

A must-stay when you're in Shantou! The location is superb, close to MixC Mall and Xiaogongyuan, with amazing food all around – perfect for exploring and dining. Guest rooms are on the 19th floor and above, offering expansive views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Some suites even come with Chaoshan Kung Fu tea sets, showing great attention to detail. The service is warm and professional; the front desk proactively shared food recommendations and we even got a free room upgrade upon check-in. It's incredibly good value for money, suitable for both business and leisure!

I have to give this hotel an absolutely glowing review! I feel incredibly lucky to have chosen this hotel for my May Day holiday trip! Initially, I saw online that the hotel opened quite a while ago, and even though I knew it had been renovated, I was still worried about old facilities and such. But from the moment I stepped out of the car and arrived at the hotel entrance, all my worries completely vanished! From the staff at the lobby door thoughtfully opening the car door and helping with luggage, to the professional and friendly front desk during check-in, and even the lobby manager promptly bringing us Shantou's special herbal tea, my impression of the hotel instantly shot up! The biggest surprise was being upgraded to a different room type for free. Staying two nights during May Day felt totally worth it! I noticed the hotel's self-made travel guide pamphlets at the front desk, and upon picking one up, I realized it was almost identical to the meticulously researched guide I had put together on Xiaohongshu – truly showing how thoughtful the hotel is!!! After asking, I learned that every single food recommendation on that guide was personally taste-tested and carefully selected by the hotel staff. How incredibly dedicated! By this point, I was already in an exceptionally good mood! Then we entered the room. We were upgraded to a suite-like room type. I'm not sure if all room types have been renovated, but the one we stayed in was excellent. The decor, facilities, and cleanliness were all top-notch. They even provided bath salts, a bath bag, and a loofah by the bathtub, which was so thoughtful – more so than many five-star hotels I've stayed in! And the sweet soup delivered to the room was light and refreshing! It's a shame we only planned two nights in Shantou. All in all, this trip to Shantou was exceptionally satisfying because of the hotel! Oh, I also wanted to add that I was originally considering chain hotels like Atour or Mercure, but during May Day, their prices were high and rooms were small (I noticed hotel rooms in Shantou seem to be generally smaller). Because this hotel had more favorable prices and larger rooms, I chose it by chance, and I never expected it to be this amazing. I'm truly satisfied! This is the first time I've proactively written a positive review, and I want to say that your hotel deserves it! Everyone should stay here!

I used to stay at this hotel frequently ten years ago when it was still called 'International Grand Hotel.' I later found out it had changed its name. My recent stay was, once again, nothing short of excellent. The service was as warm and high-quality as ever. Even my son didn't want to leave, mainly because there's so much amazing food in Shantou, and the hotel's location is absolutely perfect.

Traveled with friends during the May Day holiday. The price was reasonable, and we stayed for two nights. The room had a cozy feel, and the lobby offered herbal tea every day. They even provided sweet soup every evening, which was a lovely touch. I really liked the scent of the toiletries. Overall, it was a great experience! Plus, I got to try Xinghua Wuji, making the trip truly worthwhile!

The room's amenities are thoughtfully designed. The bathtub comes with bath salts and a disposable tub liner. The bathroom even has a clothesline and is stocked with laundry detergent and lotion. Each day of my stay, I received a different sweet soup, and the tea in the lobby, along with the candies in the stairwell, were also delicious!

I'm incredibly satisfied with my hotel stay this time. The staff were polite and enthusiastic, and the hotel service felt like a VIP experience. Although the hotel opened some time ago, the decor seems to be new. It's a new Chinese style, with a luxurious and grand lobby, and the rooms are clean and tidy. In the evening, they offered a sweet soup, like a lotus seed and peach gum concoction, which was delicious and served in a thermal pot. The hotel's location is convenient for getting anywhere; you can easily explore Shantou by shared bike. Overall, I'm super satisfied! 🫧✨👍🏻

The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, and the facilities and environment are excellent. Afternoon tea is also available, which the kids absolutely loved. The room was spacious and very clean. It truly lives up to its reputation as a long-standing five-star hotel!
