Shaoxing Laotaimen Lu Xun's Hometown Youth Hostel

Eighteen years later, I returned to Shaoxing and stayed at the same place. The only change was the name, from 'Old Taimen Inn' to 'Old Taimen International Youth Hostel'. What hasn't changed is the landlady's warm, thoughtful, and meticulous hospitality. After the renovation and upgrade, the rooms are still clean, tidy, and well-equipped. Many young students come here, drawn by its reputation, making the hostel even more vibrant and youthful. Various special activities at the hostel attract many participants, making it a lively place. They have an aquaponics system where you can pick strawberries or cherry tomatoes; enjoy coffee or homemade rice wine, and snacks like peanuts or茴香豆 (fennel-flavored broad beans). You can also release river lanterns to make wishes, sing 🎤, dance 💃, enjoy tea and chat, and make new friends.

This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Shaoxing, especially if you're here to see Lu Xun's former residence. It's super convenient, just 100 meters to the right when you exit the hotel. It's also very close to Xu Wei's former residence and the old streets. The room was comfortable, and the owner was very thoughtful; they even provided a therapeutic mat on the bed, which made sleeping very pleasant. The front desk staff were also very welcoming. Highly recommend!

I was really satisfied with the room; it offered great value for money. This guesthouse is quite unique, located within an ancient building. Best of all, there was no formaldehyde smell from renovations, which I'm very sensitive to. While it might be a bit old and small, the overall experience was excellent. They even have their own restaurant, which hosts events every night at 9 PM, like movie screenings, dancing, and releasing river lanterns. The value here is truly unbeatable. Plus, the location is superb – just a 3-minute walk to Lu Xun's Former Residence, right within the scenic area. Highly recommend it, it's really good!

This guesthouse in an ancient Jiangnan town has so much old-world charm! The service is warm and attentive. You can order dishes from the restaurant or even buy fresh ingredients from the market for them to cook for you! It's clean, hygienic, and the food tastes great!

The location is great, making it super convenient for getting around. The environment is lovely, right within the Lu Xun Native Place scenic area, and very close to both the subway and bus stations. The front desk lady was really enthusiastic and helpful, giving us tips on nearby attractions. She even invited us to the hotel's evening event – I forgot to take pictures!
