Xianheng Hotel

The hotel is a bit old, but thankfully the service is excellent. The breakfast buffet was great, offering some local Shaoxing specialties, which I really enjoyed. When we asked for a late check-out, the front desk was happy to accommodate our request. Every time we left to go sightseeing, the staff at the concierge desk would proactively offer us a bottle of water to take with us. That really touched me. If I ever come back to Shaoxing, I'll definitely stay at the Xianheng Hotel again.

Housed in Lu Xun's hometown, the Xianheng Hotel boasts elegant antique architecture that perfectly captures the charm of a water town. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is attentive and thoughtful. The fennel beans paired with Tiao wine are authentic and delicious. Plus, you're right on the doorstep of the scenic area. This is definitely my top choice for accommodation when visiting Shaoxing!

My elderly father and I traveled to Jiangnan! The room layout and directions were too complicated and not very suitable for seniors. Some of the facilities were old, like the hairdryer and the doors and windows. Shaoxing not only has good wine, but also good vinegar!

Facilities: This hotel is pretty much top-tier in Shaoxing. All things considered, it's only about 200 meters to Lu Xun's former residence, directly accessible via a back alley. It's also super convenient for visiting all the surrounding attractions like the residences of the Premier, Qiu Jin, and the Sage of Calligraphy. Guests get free parking, so you can just dump any souvenirs or Huangjiu (yellow wine) directly in your car. This alone outshines most other local hotels, not to mention its century-old brand, and their self-produced and sold Huangjiu, fava beans, and pastries. Plus, the new building at the front offers a great living experience; despite the hotel's age, the new building has a high-end, new-Chinese style, reminiscent of a five-star hotel. Service: Incredibly thoughtful. Cici, as our butler, proactively added us on WeChat, and her service was impeccable throughout. You can just relax and enjoy your trip; any needs can be directly communicated to the butler. When cleaning the room, they even brought children's slippers and toothbrushes directly to us. Overall, it's especially suitable for children around ten years old coming for an 'educational trip.' After all, Baicaoyuan to Sanwei Study is something kids will learn about sooner or later, so staying at this hotel is perfect for reinforcing those memories.

Our hotel butler, Dan, was incredibly attentive and the room was fully equipped with all the amenities we needed. He even provided a Shaoxing travel guide with sightseeing recommendations, which was very helpful. We could ask him anything at any time during our stay. The hotel's location and environment are excellent; it's just a 5-minute walk to Lu Xun's former residence. It's a great hotel for travelers! Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious, especially the braised pork with preserved vegetables – it was the best! It would be even better if they had fried stinky tofu. The coffee wasn't great. The room was really nice, pretty, charming, and well-equipped. The bedding was also excellent. I'll definitely book again next time. It's a great hotel with excellent service!

Overall, I was satisfied, and the staff were quite enthusiastic. However, they don't provide complimentary toiletries and don't inform guests beforehand. This meant I had to ask for them just before getting ready for bed, which wasted some of my rest time! There's definitely room for improvement here. The breakfast was pretty good; I just hope they can improve the quality of their Western pastries and bread, though the Chinese dishes were all excellent!

It's very close to Lu Xun's former residence, just a few minutes' walk away. The parking lot is huge, so parking is really convenient... The room was spacious and comfortable, but the window overlooked residential buildings, so there was no view.
