I expected a lot more from this resort, especially since other reviews were so positive. I stayed in January. However, I have to be completely honest with my ratings and final review.
What I want to emphasize is that we're talking about a resort, which is much larger and more extensive than a simple hotel, and from a 5-star resort, you expect a lot. Here, though, I expected everything but what I actually found.
The prices were, to put it mildly, high, considering the value for money in this location (Egypt). A haircut plus beard trim for a total of 60 euros seems more than excessive, and being told “yes, but we are in a resort” makes no sense, as ultimately, I'm still in Egypt.
I had a room with a Jacuzzi or hot tub. In this winter month, I expected this resort to have everything in order. Instead, the Jacuzzi took more than 24 hours to reach the desired temperature, and every time it smelled of chlorine because they treated it with chlorine. Nowadays, I can't find an explanation for this. It didn't seem clean, unique, or 5-star resort quality at all.
Let's talk about the cleaning. Everything looked nice, but seeing everything always painted over, and seeing all the rooms, even the interiors, painted with furniture and all, and then even hairs being dyed so they remain as 'decoration' – no thank you. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The staff was kind, but they should focus more on actual cleaning than on towel decorations.
At the à la carte restaurants, orders were sometimes forgotten, and after a while, it became tiresome. There was no real service.
Entertainers constantly hounded you to go to their parties and spend money. Basically, relaxation was anything but, and for anyone reading this, with the money you'll spend here, you'll find something a million times better.
This resort has a lot of potential, but it needs better management.
