Mövenpick Sharm El Sheikh

The hotel's pictures looked beautiful, but we didn't end up going to Sharm El Sheikh because of a change in our travel plans, so we didn't check in. It would have been great if the hotel had allowed us to cancel for free.

The room has a very charming, antique design. The staff are enthusiastic, the food is delicious, and the hotel's beach and architecture create a beautiful and relaxing environment. The only minor drawback was that the water flow from the faucet in the room was intermittent, but everything else was great.

Our stay was pleasant, and the beach offered both sandy and rocky areas. The only real downside was the challenging access to the front desk due to the numerous stairs. Also, the Wi-Fi was unfortunately only available at reception and was quite weak. A big thank you to Omar, a very kind staff member who even tried his best to help with the Wi-Fi issues. If the Wi-Fi connectivity improves, I would certainly consider staying again.

The front desk service was quite disappointing. As this was our first stop in Egypt, it certainly gave us a memorable introduction to Egyptian service. The hotel's taxi service also severely overcharged us. While the price was significantly higher than market rates – something I won't even dwell on – it was at least clearly stated. However, despite agreeing on a specific pick-up time, the driver was late, leaving us waiting by the roadside for over 40 minutes in the middle of the night. This nearly caused us to miss our onward travel plans. The hotel's interior had a strong Arabian character, but the room itself was pretty standard.

The resort has a beautiful design which I really liked, but the rooms and furniture are old. Cleanliness is average, but the facilities and beach are excellent. It's a lovely resort, but more attention should be paid to cleanliness.
