We stayed a week here for a diving holiday (diving was organised by an excellent company), but were hugely disappointed. Our room’s A/C was useless; the patio door was broken; it was not very clean; the food was poor to mediocre; we had a sea view but that meant we were also above the party area for a few Russian women who had music hammered out until late EVERY night; there was nowhere in the hotel to purchase bottled water; the sun beds were filthy and the WiFi was only available in the lobby and was patchy at best. I could go on! The porter who showed us the room turned his nose up at the €4 in coins I gave him and said it was $20 (he got a flea in his ear instead) and within seconds of arriving an unknown guy was at our door to undercut our driver’s fee for the return journey to the airport. The only person who seemed to work was the guy cooking eggs and pancakes at top speed at breakfast. Quite honestly, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! However, the bed was comfortable!

Me and my partner booked to stay here for a break/holiday from everyday life. We arrived at the hotel at 06:30am and got told we couldn’t check in until 14:00 which we both understood. As we were both knackered from travelling since 17:00 the previous night we stayed in reception and rested. 3 hours later a member of staff said our room was ready and then said me and my partner could have either a standard or deluxe room to which we responded saying the standard room was okay. The one member of staff said to go look at both the choices and then another member of staff took us to see both rooms. We then came back and said the standard room was okay for us and they insists we go for the deluxe room. I said I wanted the standard room as I knew if I chose the deluxe they’d ask for a fee. Both the 2 members of staff on reception then kept going on saying to have the deluxe room so I said okay because me and my partner just wanted to sleep and rest and they weren’t letting us choose the standard one and didn’t give us a choice. The one staff member said to pay £50,000 EGP for the upgrade and I said no and then they said you chose so I just said £7,000 EGP for the 10 nights. I went to pay in reception and they said that we should pay in the room which I thought was strange. One of the staff members took us to the deluxe room and sat me down and said to pay now so I gave him the money. He said that if anyone asked me and my partner , that our upgrade was free and that if we said anything about the money we paid him that bad things would happen to me and my partner and this was threatening. He left the room after that. We both went to go to sleep and he came back banging on the door and then started pulling the handle on the door. I opened the door and he walked into the room and gave us both bracelets for our breakfast the following morning. We were both very anxious, nervous and felt in danger because of how they treated us so we left on that exact evening. We booked a taxi from reception to the airport and the guy who threatened us took us to the taxi and we then left and went to a different country to enjoy the rest of our holiday. All in all I do not recommend this hotel at all , we didn’t get to experience the area , food, swimming pool, and the room so we can’t comment on how that would be but the two staff members who made us uncomfortable and coerced both me and my partner were disgusting, and rude and will make you uncomfortable. We got our hotel refunded which was good but was a hassle to sort out. Definitely won’t be back!

We arrived on 4/11/23 to a neighbouring hotel, our experience was extremely bad, our hotel room was dirty and inhabitable, we gave the said hotel the opportunity to clean up and they moved our room to a more acceptable standard, however within days we were covered in bed bug bites( confirmed). We met Gamal at the Cataract hotel nights before who gave us the most lovely hospitality, when he seen our despair he really helped us out. We were able to check out of said hotel and book into the cataract. They took our suitcases and laundered all our clothing to prevent cross contamination. The hotel restaurant and staff treated us with so much respect and really made our holiday so much better. Gamal who works front of house was our savour. The hotel manager really looked after us as well as the chef at the restaurant. We really had a bad experience at first but this hotel really turned it around and I can’t recommend them enough. If you stay in Sharm, Namma Bay then this is the hotel. They have their own private beach, the toilets are spotless and the staff exceed customer service . Gamal is the super star of the show he really saved our holiday

We have spend in this hotel beautiful 2 weeks, it was for us the best choice for vacation in Egypt ever. Hotel is very clean, friendly and helpfull stuff at reception, room service and especially the MASTER in his job Abdel the hotels retaurant manager - feed well very tasty and quite often, there is a huge selection of meat and garnish to eat and a lot of sweets and fruits. In the evening, the animators arrange various shows and disco. Location one of the best, the center of Sharm el Sheik, sandy beach, very good playa service as well as security at the hotel and beach. All we have to say Layalina Cataract Resort is a beautiful place to spend vacation for the whole family. We have by the way also personal message to Abdel Baset : Andrzej and Majka would like to hear from you because we lost any contact to You

Nothing good to say about this resort. Spent a week there and the only positive thing I have is that our room cleaner was pleasant and did a good job. We paid for all-inclusive. The worst part is that they don't provide any drinkable water. It is over 100 degrees every day the only thing you can get at the restaurants are little 3oz cups. No water in your room. If you try to fill up a water bottle, they charge you extra. Really! Same goes for other drinks. You want a beer, you get a 3 oz cup. Wine - only if you pay extra for the whole bottle. At dinner they will give you a mixed drink. Gin and 7-up. Vodka and 7-up. Rum and 7-up in a 3 oz cup. As long as you like 7-up, and going back every 5 minutes to re-fill, you'll be good. This resort also caters to smokers. There are chain-smokers everywhere. The pool was dirty and the swim-up bar looks like it was been abandoned years ago. Stools were broken, covered with plastic bags that now have algae growing in them. We only ate breakfast there. Other meals were not edible. We paid to eat at other restaurants even though we had an all-inclusive package. There are lots of nice places in Naama Bay. Find something else

The room I had was 205 exceptionally noisey from the local bars (only meters away) until early hours, the bed and windows would rattle from the bass. The bed was comfy and the air con worked well although it sounded like a generator was in the room but it did cover some of the noise from the Bass. After finally getting to sleep the cold woke me at 4am(like I said good air con) I decided to turn it off, this is when I heard the nightly after hours pool party which appeared to have an exceptionally drunk old Russian lady randomly screaming along to a Russian song, I did consider contacting reception or security but they appeared to be sat smoking shisha with her. So I put on a jumper and back to the air con which did drown her out. The party did finish at 7am and the pool boy cleaned their mess up promptly, which he did for the first 5 nights until they seemed to leave the hotel. The room I had only had 1 electric socket the shower went from really hot to cold or just stopped. You couldn’t turn lights off from bed it had a fridge and a reasonable amount of storage, there was a balcony but not much of a view. The house keeper cleaned well but the room was just old and depressing. The pool area during the day was peaceful and plenty of beds during my visit, most people go to the beach which is busier. The breakfast was okay nothing special but passable. The restaurant was generally full of smoke from the egg station, The bar wasn’t at all inviting so didn’t use it. I was on a dive trip and only needed the hotel to sleep in and on days 5/6 managed to sleep. I only paid £25 per night so shouldn’t complain too much. If you want a great position in naama bay and don’t need much sleep you’ll be okay here if you like to have a peaceful early night stay away.
