Shenzhen Chang'an Hotel (Luohu Port Huangbeiling Subway Station Branch)

Booked in a rush and didn't really check the reviews. Had a pretty uncomfortable stay. The hotel is very old and clearly just renovated. When I walked in, there was a strong musty smell, and the duvet cover and pillows reeked of it too. It got a bit better after opening the window, but the bathroom's musty smell lingered for days. The power outlets were all old-fashioned. A cleaner did come in to change the sheets. I stayed for three consecutive days because I had some business to take care of, and it was just unpleasant.

The room was very spacious, which was super convenient for traveling with kids, and the subway entrance is right outside! The front desk service was also excellent. Highly recommend.

Deceptive! When I checked in, I specifically asked the front desk if the room type I booked was newly renovated, and they said yes. I even showed them my booking details and pictures for confirmation, and they agreed before sending us up. The next day, I went to my friend's room and realized it was a room that was renovated over a decade ago! When I went to the front desk to clarify, they tried to argue that they had upgraded us to a 'blanket room' which was also newly renovated. I can't believe this old hotel is so good at tricking people! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

This hotel is next to a gas station, which is convenient for guests traveling by car. The room wasn't very big, and the air conditioning had a strong smell. I switched rooms, and it was a bit better, but I still had a sore throat and a cough. I haven't experienced this at other hotels I've stayed at. The bathroom was square-shaped, making for a comfortable shower. However, it was surprising that the hotel charges for laundry via a QR code. All the hotels I've stayed at before offered free self-service washer-dryer combos. Plus, for this price, there's no breakfast, so it's not great value for money.

The hotel was very considerate. Although check-in is usually at 2 PM, they gave me a room at 8:30 AM, which was a huge relief after an overnight journey. I'm very grateful. Parking was also convenient, and the room was clean with a good environment overall. The location near the border crossing made it very convenient for travel. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it.

The hotel front desk only had one staff member, leading to a long wait time for check-in and overall low efficiency. The male staff member who handled our check-out had a perfunctory and stiff attitude, which made for a poor experience. The room itself had serious humidity issues; the sheets and duvet covers felt noticeably damp, making it feel cold and clammy. Mobile signal in the bathroom was extremely weak, making it almost impossible to get online. Overall, the stay was not good.
