The hotel was designed by Neri&Hu Design and Research Office. The designers transformed an old urban village residence into a boutique hotel with only 11 guest rooms. The core design concept is 'coexistence of urban village and prosperous city,' retaining the original concrete structure and yellow tiled exterior walls, and even the original beam frames are visible.
When I walked into the room, the exposed concrete walls and warm wooden furniture created a striking contrast, and the 'new and old' collision felt particularly strong. The interior uses folding iron curtains, commonly seen in southern street alleys, as partitions, and the interplay of light and shadow creates a beautiful sense of depth. Honestly though, the iron curtains did give a slight 'iron bars' feeling, and the bathroom doesn't have a door, which might be a bit awkward if you're staying with friends.
