Dengba International Youth Hostel (Shenzhen Futian Convention and Exhibition Center)

This is my second stay at this hostel, and to me, it's still one of the best in Shenzhen. It's also very close to the metro. The hostel is run by a lovely family from Henan. It's clean, well-maintained, and has excellent facilities, including a kitchen, a water dispenser and free lockers. The staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful. They also have a 24-hour reception. (Many hostels in Shenzhen don't have a reception at all!) The lounge has a fantastic atmosphere for meeting other travellers. To my surprise, they've even introduced an English Hour, where I had the chance to chat with many local Chinese guests. They shared plenty of useful tips for my upcoming trip to Hangzhou, and I even met two young lads from there. The hostel also gave me a 15% discount on my stay. I hope they continue offering it. Travelling in China can be challenging for non-Chinese speakers, as English isn't widely spoken, so opportunities like this are extremely rare and valuable. I would certainly stay here again when I fly out of Shenzhen.

This is a really great hostel in a super location. There's lots to eat and do nearby, the subway is close, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. And there's a really nice community vibe here. I will stay again if I come back!
