Hotel New Shizuoka

A standard business hotel. The room size was satisfactory for a single. The toilet and bathroom had been nicely renovated, which was great. Hair care and facial care products were also provided, which is a big plus. I didn't try the breakfast buffet, but it would be helpful if they provided a more detailed explanation about it.

Honestly, this hotel is the worst value I've ever booked on Ctrip. Aside from its decent location, there's really nothing else to recommend. It's located a few hundred meters from Shizuoka Station, right next to the Shizuoka Daisen Hotel. I booked it for over 1,000 yuan, but two days before my stay, I saw the five-star Daisen Hotel nearby was only over 800 yuan, and it even had a view of Mount Fuji. 🗻 Another five-star hotel, the Associa Hotel, had a better location and was cheaper than the three-star hotel I booked, but by then, the hotel's checkout period had passed. I was really annoyed. The service at this hotel was also subpar. Upon check-in, they asked if we wanted new towels, and we said no. To our surprise, they didn't even provide basic cleaning. There was no bottled water provided in the room, and you had to hand the key to the front desk when entering or leaving. In addition, the room I booked had a large bed and a sofa. The bed was small, so my daughter wanted to sleep on the small sofa next to it, but when we asked the hotel for a quilt, they said they didn't provide one, so the two of us had to squeeze into the large bed. The hotel staff also spoke poor English. Fortunately, my daughter knows some simple Japanese, so we were able to communicate. But overall, this hotel really gave me a very bad experience, and I will never stay there again.

Breakfast is terribly expensive and there's nothing to eat. If you're going to charge that much, at least make it decent. Since it's near the station, you can get a cheap breakfast set at a soba noodle shop or a beef bowl restaurant, which is several times cheaper and more satisfying. The room is spacious and comfortable.
