Our last experience should have been our final but, we decided to give our former beloved Eldorado ****** a second chance. When reservations were made it was implied there had been some good changes to the property. It was not true. Updates and upkeep is apparently not on the agenda. The rooms remain outdated. They were just dirty and I am talking “deep dirty” that has been ignored far too long. Here are just a few examples of my hotel room experience. I spilled a glass of water and grabbed a towel to blot it up and in a matter of seconds the towel had large brown stains on it. The brown stains are left up to the imagination of what it came from. The last night of our stay my door would not open. I found housekeeping staff member to try their master key and was told the door was broken. After two phone calls to the front desk, I was put in another room and was told I was being upgraded to a suite. I could've cared less if I had an upgraded room or not. I only needed a room to sleep a few hours and the common decency of the staff in expressing their regrets that the BLASTED door couldn't be fixed. It was of no surprise the suite had not been updated and dust was prominent everywhere. We are living in epidemic times and most hotel properties have protocols in place and abide by them to ensure their guest safety. The restaurant food was not horrible. The main problem we would select an option only to learn they didn’t have it. In addition we were told they had not had selection for some time. During our stay, the steakhouse was not open. The gift shop has limited hours. The spa has limited hours and limited massage therapists. The staff at the spa were efficient and welcoming. I generally play slots vs table games. There were only a limited number of slots than what they have had in the past. Most of the slot machines were old and several machines had signs on them as inoperable. If you are a smoker there is no smoking inside the property per city ordinance. They are in process of building a “Patio” that was advertised on the flyer we received in the mail but, it has not been completed. The whole environment of this property is OFF. To say some of the staff were not customer service oriented would seem to be an exaggeration, I assure you it is not. With the name change one might think the property has been revamped. It is not. If management doesn’t get it up to the standards that most guests/players have come to expect, the outlook for this property is grim.

The room was ABOMINABLE! Even with the LOW nightly rate I got it was HORRENDOUS! If this is what Wyndham wants to rep, you have reached a new low! Let's see where do I start: phone was completely dead for me to report that the TV did not work AND that the TV remote had no back to keep the batteries in. So, I had to walk to the office where the maintenance men just happened to be. They came over and ”fixed” the TV, which had the grainiest picture I have EVER seen, ever! Some channels were so bad I couldn't even watch them. Their ”repair” for the lack of a battery cover was to take some clear packing tape and wrapped it around the remote! REALLY??? Then, the best for last as the next day when I went to take a shower I noticed the porcelain in the shower was pock marked like it was 30+ years old, to th point of being disgusting looking, BUT, hold your breath, then I notice many HAIRS stuck to the bottom of the tub, FROM ANOTHER HUMAN BEING! GROSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! OMG! I had to rinse and rinse to get those digesting short little black hairs out of the tub so I could take a shower and get the F out of that hellhole of a room! I have pictures to document if you are even interested!? Can't even give the hotel a 1 out of 10!

Party of 5 booked 3 rooms. All sheets were dirty and stained!! Fans in room to replace A/C. Lights in bathroom didn't work. Called front desk for new sheets and was told they didn't have any. Went to front to get refund and check out, and there was a line of people complaining about the beds. They were also told the hotel had no extra sheets. The owner who lives on property was then called to front desk. We asked for refund gave our reasons which included the couple that was in the hall fighting for 30 minutes. He yelled ”no refund its after midnight”. We then called the police to address the domestic dispute and to see if they could help with refund. The owner who wouldn't give his name continued to argue with us saying no refund. He was RUDE, LOUD AND ARGUMENTIVE!The police could not help with our refunds but they did investigate the fight in the hall which the owner failed to do. Our party left the hotel at 2 am and drove back home. Now we know it is not the Hilton but if you don't even have clean sheets to offer your guests you need to be closed down. DO NOT STAY
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shreveport - West

We stayed there last night and found the hotel to be average. When arriving at night, it is difficult to see the streets to get there as it is not on the I20 frontage road, but one road back. The streets are very dark and the neighborhood is not one of the best. The property appears to be fairly new, but like most HI Express hotels, the construction is not very good and everything is aimed towards cheap. But, that is ok. The clerk was very nice and helpful. Our room was clean and everything worked. However, due to the cheap construction there is almost no sound deadening. It is located close to the Interstate and we could hear the trucks going by constantly. Not a soft hum in the distance but a sound like it was in the parking lot! The included breakfast was almost nothing ... just a sausage sandwich or cereal basically. They called it hot because the sandwiches were rewrapped and in a hot serving pan. Parking was ample but parking lot lighting left a little to be desired. They make it obvious that HI is more interested in saving a few bucks than in any real security for its guests. Overall, no problems, but the quality or level of service provided by Holiday Inn Express appears to be dropping the more we stay at their hotels. This one just fit that pattern. The price was high for what we got, but not outrageous. HI wants to charge higher rates than their properties deserve.
